Work send me to London to work at our HQ for a few days, sometime they book the hotels, sometimes I get to (I prefer the latter)
I am able to give people who have been asking to use me a suitable notice period, more than 2 weeks.
I place adverts on this site, the sister site and another
I update my status, profile and the meets section, stipulating that I'm in a hotel and the postcode and looking for "guests"
Anyone who contacts me directly is told which hotel, the full address and what time I expect to check in (confirm the room number) and what time I am available from and to...
(3pm, 8pm, early hours of the next day)
I then get asked:
Am I available the day before
Am I available the day after
Am I available before I can check in
Questions about how many I expect
I get asked if I will do 1 on 1 with them and them alone (as they are special / nervous / selfish)
Questions about information already provided in the adverts and/or direct message
Questions about I am wearing or I get told their preferences
I get asked by other subs if they can be used by me
I get asked by other subs if they can join in
I get asked if they travel into London can they stay in my room
I get told I should book a room in a different part of the country as they can't get to Canary Wharf
I get asked where Canary Wharf in London is?
I get asked to explain why I am staying in Canary Wharf
Anyway, despite the above ( multiplied by 3 platforms remember) I press on and make my plans
A slight curve ball a week before when work change my hotel for just one of the nights (the night I am free!) its still in the same area, so I change the adverts, my status and my profile, on all the platforms, I then contact everyone who I replied to directly.
I am going to London for 3 days, and as work have a function the 1st day which I can't escape, and now I have to change hotels, and I have double the luggage of most people, as all my clothing, make up and toys etc take up another bag/ suitcase...
Whilst travelling down from Lancashire to London, I contact everyone who contacted me directly and let them know its still all good (at this stage no one tends to drop out yet)
At this stage you are inundated with people who claim they are DEFINITELY coming to use me, including a number who ho into great detail as to what they are going to do to me
Obviously I'm still answering multiples of the above questions, I get to work, finish for the day, check into my hotel, now 1 night and not 2...
Before I go out for the work event I don't want to attend, I confirm with everyone who contacted me directly that its all still good, this is when people start to drop out...
Excuses are:
No longer available due to work commitments (at 8pm)
Something personal has come up
A change of their location
I won't do something they know I won't do but this is the time to tell me
I escape the work function as early as I can, as I want to save my energy for the following night
Despite that, I don't sleep well when I'm away, so after a restless night, an early start, to get all my stuff on the DLR to Canary Wharf to change my hotel later that day
Work finishes early, result!
I log on, a few more people drop out, I reply courteously, only a few reply back.
I contact anyone remaining interested and tell them that I will let them know my room number at 3pm and will advise on any access limitations and how I have planned to get around them
I do a quick shop on my way to the hotel, some fruit, milk drinks and a bottle of white wine!
I check in and update the people who haven't dropped out yet
I then get a fresh surge of messages asking me all the questions at the top of this list, again, I answer them all, on all the platforms
I check in, get a room, get an electronic pass for the door, but also 2 x cards
I goto my room, hang my stuff up, put the fruit and wine in the fridge, brew up and then make my way down to the ground floor to hide my room cards in 2 x locations that people can access or they can follow people upstairs or into lifts.
Once completed, its back to my room to clean myself thoroughly inside and out, connect my personal laptop to the hotel WiFi, charge up my phone and log into the sites.
Anyone who claims they can still make it, gets my room number,my first name (if challenged by staff) and the location of the cards and my mobile number
Several people who said they can't make it now ask me how they can get access?!
The questions highlighted earlier in this piece continue...
Some more people drop out
I have shaved, washed inside & out (thoroughly) chosen my outfit and laid my make up out ready to start
Its now 6pm
I log in again, I get more of the above questions, my experience tells me to expect 3 people during the evening.
My transformation is complete, its 7pm, so I open my wine and log into the chat rooms, entering the respective "directing" rooms... |
