It’s been a while (old profile I think) since I’ve posted a story. This latest adventure spurred by some recent fantasies (or realities?) at the gym. Comments welcome

Every year I tried something different on the exercise front in January, to counter the excesses of December. This year was no different. Adding the compounding food and drink unhealthiness from Covid, and it was a forgone conclusion I’d be joining a gym a few weeks back.
The new large ones filled with equipment in decaying out of town shopping centres weren’t for me. I disliked gyms at the best of times. So I set out looking for something a bit different.
An advert (very well targeted!) caught my attention online. “Exclusive countryside estate: gym open to new members”.
Some very well curated pictures showed a small but well equipped gym light and airy setup. That’ll do. To add to my growing interest, they had a nice pool, lovely outdoor grounds and an attached golf course all wrapped round an old stately home hotel. Imposing facades, mature trees. Nice long drive. Very civilised. Hmm, this is going to be seriously expensive. Poked around to find pricing and only £50 a month for the first three months. Covid must have hit them hard. Ah well. Worth a look at least.
With no online form to enquire about membership I have them a call. The hotel receptionist put me through to the gym and the phone was quickly picked up.
“Manor hall gym” came the smooth female voice at the other end of the line.

After an uneventful morning of work, the grey skies doing nothing to improve the general crapness of January, I hopped in the car after my last work call shortly before lunch.
It was a 15 minute drive to the Manor. Just enough time to lose my thoughts on the drive as I twisted and turned through some country roads that all blurred into one.
Turning off the main road, I crept through large imposing iron gates and onto the tree lined drive. About 100m ahead of me sat the house. Imposing facade or red brick, with a large gravel drive outside dotted with a smattering of German cars and pristine 4x4s.
After pulling up, I crunched across the gravel to the main entrance. Through some ceiling high oak doors that felt reassuringly heavy to open, and into a large reception area. After enquiring where the gym was, the receptionist escorted me to the back of the building, the waft of chlorine indicating we were heading in the right direction.
She left me at a set of frosted glass doors, which I pushed through into the gym foyer.
Stood at a standing desk, bent slightly at the hips, leaning on an elbow stood “Helen” reading from the bronzed name badge. She was striking. Early 50s I’d guess. Long brunette hair flowed down to the middle of her back. She wore a dark blue knee high dress that fit classically to accentuate her curves. Dark but thin tights wrapped her legs into some dark brown simple pumps. She had a subtle yet obviously unnatural tan. Perfectly manicured pastel coloured nails, matching lip colour and as she raised her head to greet me, a glint in her dark hazelnut eyes and just the hint of a smirk as she welcomed me.

Thanks for the feedback all. It’s been fun! Still working out where to take it but have some ideas. More to come…

I’m not usually easily disarmed, but here I was. On the spot. Utterly disarmed. It was strange. Subtle. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but I was overwhelmingly captivated. And I must have looked like a total fool. I snapped back to the reception.
“Hi, nice to meet you” getting my composure back together.
“Shall I show your round?”

“Let me show you the pool”
Stealing a glimpse of those curves as she moved through the back of the gym, we headed through another set of doors to the pool. Millpond flat, 15m and not too stuffy. Perfect.
“Are you a steam or Sauna fan?”
Replying both, she proceeded to show me each in turn. Lingering in the doorway of the sauna, the heat was impressive. A very new boiler. I could crank that high just as I liked. The steam room was equally impressive. Lingering again in the doorway, the heat started to take its toll. I felt sweat beading on my forehead and my T-shirt starting to cling. “Hmm, I forgot how quickly it got you. Apologies. Let me show you the changing rooms”
Stepping through, the changing rooms were simply appointed.

Having paid my subs and checked on the opening hours (“we’re a hotel. And a relatively quiet one at the moment, so the gym is open 24 hours. Just try not to drown yourself in the pool when nobody’s here please Mark!”. “Great, I’ll see you Monday”), I crunched over the gravel back to my car and enjoyed the twisting and turning roads back home. Mentally undressing Helen as I went.
The end of the work day passed by uneventfully. Dinner and a few drinks with friends Friday, football and some unmemorable TV Saturday, and a drawn out lunch with family Sunday and the weekend passed in a blur.
Setting my alarm a lot earlier than normal to get to the gym before work should have been a chore. But having had a full weekend, I hadn’t given Helen much more thought. Until the drive to the gym. I was single after a longterm relationship ended messily during Covid. Not ready to date again, but highly sexed, my brain lost itself in Helen’s allure on the drive over to the Manor.
Coasting down the drive, the car park was almost empty. Gym should be quiet. Super.

And just like that, the silhouette faded and the shower stopped as she turned the handle to off. There was total silence aside running water from my shower.
“I’ll leave you to it Mark” Helen said.
I half gurgled a watery frog in my throat as a reply. “See you in a bit” was meant to come out of my mouth. But it sounded like utter gibberish.
