So to set the scene, I am the Finance Manger for a company and have a team of 4 that I am responsible for. We have the usual Sales and Purchase ledger clerks, credit control and then an office junior that helps everyone.
This morning like every morning, I walked in to the office said hi to everyone and went straight into the kitchen area to put the kettle on. Lilly (the office junior) was already in there having breakfast and was engrossed on her phone.
Catching her attention to see if she wanted a brew she smiled, simple replied “yes” and was straight back to her phone. Nothing new there I thought to myself and walked to the fridge to grab the milk.
Nothing in the fridge so I asked Lilly if we were out or if the warehouse lads had taken it. “Sorry, I used the last of it for my breakfast but there’s been a delivery this morning I’ll go and grab it”
In her haste she had left her phone unlocked on the table where I had sat whilst waiting.
Her phone was going mad, notification after notification was coming through along the top banner which caught my attention. Should I just ignore it as it’s not my phone? What harm would a quick peak do? I’m sure she wouldn’t mind, would she?
Assuming it was probably just ‘the girls’ on WhatsApp my focus shifted to the phone just as it was self locking but had I seen what I thought I had seen?
Surely not, surely Lilly has not got a Fab account?! |
