The long goodbye

She always wanted it to be him. As she glances down at her phone, haphazardly wishing that it would be him once more.

And when it finally was him she could barely contain her excitement.

She felt his space become flushed, catching her breath. Her heart fluttering and skipping it's beats.

Excitement, desire, entwined with sad realisation of what she has had to give up on.

She never fully understood his effect on her. All she knew was just one word from him and she was transported back into their own little world again.

Locking the rest of her life out to be his and to be loved by him for a short while.

What was his power over her and how she could not deny him? Why did she never truly want to?

Her body betrayed her as she trembled with his every word sending waves of desire through her.

His words. Each once unlocking another memory, another moment of lust and another pang of jealousy.

She just couldn't help herself. An intense and seemingly untameable chemistry flowed between them.

Doing the right thing certainly doesn't feel as good as she tries to make it sound. Yet they both know. Sharing unspoken sorrow that their time was always stollen.

Even still, she has a weakness for him. An ache for his stare, his touch. A longing for his kiss.

He was something she couldn't ever resist.

And her every thought was still so often his.

How could anyone else ever do?

And even although he broke her heart, she still wanted him and loved him with every single piece.

And she knew she always would.
