It was the 23rd March 2020, my wife Jo and I were sat watching the live announcement, that the UK would be going into some sort of lockdown.
We had already seen the panic in other countries, the full lockdowns, and feared the worst.
Jo was a home maker, a housewife, whatever you’d like to call it. She loved to have a clean house, stocked shelves, and a fresh, hearty meal on the table every night. At 44 years old she was very pretty, gym fit and active, definitely still a head turner.
Me, my name is Pete, 45 years old, also gym fit, I own a medium sized manufacturing business, a healthy yearly turnover, and with 30 employees, of whom all get on very well. Although for our reasonable size, it was more like a family business. We would have a yearly BBQ at our country home, of which all of the employees were invited, and put up for the night in various hotels or B&B’s, at my expense.
It wasn’t me being lavish, or showing my wealth, these guys and girls were our friends, as well as employees, and it was our way of showing my gratitude to them, half way through the year.
After the announcement, I had to get into work early the following morning, and prepare for a meeting.
Tuesdays were a busy day, like any other, but I would have to stop production today, for an hour to sit down and chat with everyone.
The furlough scheme was in its early days, but I didn’t want there to be any panic or unrest with my wonderful staff.
At 06.45am the first of the employees started arriving. By 06.55am everyone was clocked in, coffee’s in hand, and heading off to their machines.
I figured I would leave it an hour or two, let them get settled, before calling the meeting. I wanted their brains awake and active before we all sat down.
Social distancing was to a degree already in place, so at 08.45am, I asked my general manager to go down and call everyone for a meeting, at 09.00am, in the warehouse, so we could all be distant from each other.
At 09.00am I walked down the 2 flights of stairs, in the knowledge that I would be sending everyone home at 5pm.
Talks with suppliers the following day, had furnished the information that I had dreaded, that they would be closing down for the foreseeable.
With no supplies we couldn’t make our products, for very long, so it was the right decision for me to make.
Making my way into the warehouse, the staffs faces were a mix of fear and the unknown, and I had to alleviate these fears. After all, these were my friends, almost family, and I wouldn’t let them suffer.
I explained, that from 5pm that day, the factory would be closing, that they were all being furloughed. To their surprise and delight, I announced I would personally be making up the 20% they would be losing, as I didn’t want any of them to fall on hard times.
I had also ordered in masks, anti bac gel and gloves for each employee. Overly generous some might say, but I wanted my employees to be safe. That would all be delivered the following day via courier.
The rest of the day went without a hitch, everyone worked hard as usual, and I had told them to shut down an hour early, just to make everything tidy, and ensure everything was switched off.
As the last one left, all thanking me and telling me to stay safe, I closed the doors, on my baby, which I had started from scratch. It was a horrible feeling, as I didn’t, in reality, know if we would open again. The business was in a very healthy position, but it also relied on my customers reopening too!
Making sure the water had been turned off, I set the alarm and closed the door and locked up.
The drive home was only 20 minutes, yet it felt like an hour.
Pulling into the driveway, waiting for the gates to open, I realised this was my office for the foreseeable, and rather than be all doom and gloom, I needed to perk up, and try not to worry.
Walking in through the front door, Jo, as always, walked over to give me a hug and kiss, and to ask about my day.
We went into the garden with a glass of wine and a beer, and sat chatting for an hour or so about work, and as always with Jo, she was reassuring me I had done the right thing.
“So that’s my day, how was yours?”
“Well, it was the normal, I have baked some cakes, dinner will be an hour or so, and I had a long chat with Kate.”
Kate was Jo’s best friend from back in her Uni days. My wife studied law, Kate studied Sports science. She was a sports masseur, working with gyms, football teams and so on. She had done well for herself, lovely house, no kids, and divorced for just over a year.
My wife and I had always wanted children, but due to infertility, my wife was unable to conceive.
It was at the point she gave up her job as a lawyer, and decided she wanted to be a home maker.
“So how was Kate? I’m guessing she has had to stop with immediate effect, what with her job being all about close contact?”
“Yes, and she seems really down about it, more so the fact she is going to be on her own.”
Kates parents emigrated to New Zealand several years ago, and she was an only child, so she was more a part of our family than her own.
“So, I have been thinking! How would you feel if she moved in here with us, just while we are on lockdown?”
Kate, as well as being a good friend, is a fine looking women, with her job she is extremely fit, but she was also blessed with a large bust, on a small frame. Curly red hair, a creamy, flawless complexion finished her look off perfectly.
As neither of us had children, we had been on many a holiday abroad together, and you’d be hard pressed to not look at either of those two beautiful women, when on a beach in bikinis.
My wife as I said, gym fit, toned, and a proportionate 34c bust.
Kate, also gym fit, toned, and a much larger 34e bust.
I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t had several a cheeky solo moment thinking about Kate, you’d have to be mad not to, so the though of a few months possibly with her around, and the impending good weather, well, I could think of worse ways to be in lockdown.
“Yes, that is fine with me honey, give her a ring, suggest it, and if she is happy, tell her to come whenever she wants.”
“You really are the best Pete, I love you.”
“Love you too sweetheart.”
The upside for all of us would be the luxury of having a good-sized home gym, an outdoor covered pool and a large jacuzzi, so we would have pretty much all we needed.
Jo was on the phone for 20 minutes, before coming out into the garden, to say she would be over tomorrow morning.
We sat together on the patio, eating dinner, and chatting, my wife saying it will be just like when we are all on holiday together. I agreed, but also knew I would have two beautiful women around me all day. I of course would be in my home office a lot, as although production was ceased, I would still need to send a lot of emails and make a lot of phone calls, to customers etc, so it wouldn’t all be one big holiday.
After dinner we both had a shower and jumped in the jacuzzi for a couple of hours. Glasses of wine, bubbles and a lack of clothes, meant relaxing in the hot tub soon turned into an intense sex session, inside and outside of the jacuzzi.
“Best I do a double up on the chemical clean tonight then,” I laughed.
“Guess that will the last Jacuzzi romp for a while,” frowned Jo.
We will see…………………..
