I know November is a while away, however, it is looking very doubtful that Spain will resume holidays for at least 6 months, any couples / singles attending the festival this year and if so where are you staying. Anthony x |

We usually drive up for a couple of days for the fiesta.
We stay in old town and hopefully this year will be the same.

"Whats people opinions on this ??
Will the fiesta go ahead this year ??
Hope so, everyone needs a good laugh !!!"
I think 50/50 at best.
I really can't see the firework display and/or fancy dress Thursday going ahead with social distancing.

"Am sure fiesta will be happening this year despite some of the shite people write on here "
So you can imagine the firework display in front of Dove Park with social distancing?
You can imagine the big parade through the old town with social distancing?
You can imagine fancy dress Thursday with social distancing?
As I said it's 50/50.
If social distancing is still in force in November it won't happen.
If social distancing is relaxed it has a chance.
If you think that is shite then think away. |

Sadly..there will be idiots that get pissed..and ignore all rules...fully agree with all you said...on the paseo in fuengirola ysterday..most bars open with terraces full..loads of folk closer than 2 mtrs..baech pretty well full too..no police doing sny checking!!!overheard brits saying virus is only like heavy flu..so you will never win..you can only stay safe yourselves..x |

"I can't really see how they can stop people wearing fancy dress even if the festival does not happen what do you think "
Yes that is true and the fancy dress Thursday isn't a part of the official fiesta. It's something that has sprung up on its own over the years.
However what they can and (if the rules are still in force) will control are the number of people in the bars and on the streets.
The usual crowds just won't be allowed.
After saying that it is likely that even if it does go ahead the numbers will be considerably down on previous years. If nothing else there just won't be enough flights. So a much smaller scale fancy dress day would be possible.
However I can't see the Wednesday parade then fireworks happening this year.
The whole thing will pivot on the social distancing rules. If they are still in force then forget it.
Remember that the Spanish government are talking about "New" normal not back to normal. |

That's a good point hot like you say there may not be that many flights but let's all hope for the best but the main thing is let's all keep safe get through this come out the other when ever it is there's a hell of a lot of people who would like to be in our shoes xx |

I live here and can assure you there is no messing about and people have taken the lockdown very seriously.
If fiestas happens (and I’m not sure it’ll be allowed) it will be with strong measures in place which the police will enforce.
Events in September are already being cancelled, and with November being cooler we don’t know how this virus may behave or indeed if it will reappear just as viciously

I think you are being very optimistic if you think it will go ahead. Spain's lockdown was very strict I can't see the authorities allowing thousands of brits in to party. Hope that it does but we're not booking anything until we know. Good luck |

Benidorm is hitting phase 3 on June 15 so by phase 4 which will be late July it means that everything is just about back to normal.
It’s big crowds that worry governments but with all the protests happening all over the world then let’s see if there are any spikes because of them

Someone had posted about the Benidorm soul weekend. Is that going ahead.
I have been a regular at the beni November fiesta for over 25 years but will give it a rest this year.. can't see it being the same with social distancing. But good luck to you brave people who venture out there. I am bit wary of booking flights a comodatiom if there is a second spike. Hope it goes well. 2021 for me |

"We are there to flash hotel "
If it re-opens. At the moment it is still closed.
Also still closed in the same area. Calypso, Rosamar, Pueblo, Orange, Ambassador Playa, Venus, Villa de Benidorm and Nereo, among others.
The only ones we saw definitely open in that area were Pelicanos (Although the Ocas side was still closed) Marina, Helios, Perla, and Presidente.
They were open but almost empty.
Talking to locals, many say that most will not re-open until 2021.

ALICANTE AREA SPAIN |
where on earth do you get your information regarding 6 months - the Interior Minister for Costa Blanca has been on the TV this evening suggesting to Boris that the spikes are very localised - Barcelona and a few industrial areas but not generally where the tourists visit. He must surely back down and be more regionalised as he was when there was a spike in Leicester 2 weeks ago or he is going to piss even more people off

There has been no official announcement by town hall as yet the penyas who organises the parade and parties have said they suspending it but nothing from town hall. Personal I can't see it going ahead and I'd it's still like it is at mo mass gathering for fancy dress will just accumulate fines sad times |

Pride is definitely cancelled 100%
The penyas who organise all the fiestas in the area have stated that November fiestas won’t go ahead although that isn’t going to stop tourists coming (if allowed/quarantine rules etc) and popping on their costumes. Officially however it’s been stated here in Benidorm by the penyas that it’s not going ahead.
It’s no shock tbf but it’s definitely a disappointment |
