Just driven to Javea (1 hr closer to UK, to north) and back. It takes 3 x 8 hour days to do it comfortably. Or you could do it in two 12 hour days, I guess.

We enjoy meeting couples, and have a large private villa in Javea. Come and join us for fun in the sun.

It would depend on your starting point in the UK and which route you take.

Using the well trodden path from Calais via Paris, Clermont Ferand, Menau bridge, and Barcelona I would reckon on about 19/20 hours actual driving, plus stops.

Then add however long it takes you from home to Dover plus the ferry crossing itself (Two hours, plus allow at least a good hour for waiting and getting on and off)

You can save driving time by taking the Portsmouth/Plymouth to Santander overnight ferry. From Santander to Alicante is around 8/9 hours but it is a much more expensive ferry.

I’ve driven over in the last couple of weeks. I don’t use the toll roads, it gets expensive.

I drive from Calais, heading for Rouen, Poitiers, Bordeaux, Zaragoza, then head towards Valencia, but you don’t actually go there.

If you have a smart phone, use Waze as your sat-nav, it’s free to download & use. It’s better than most dedicated sat-navs, it’s owned by google now, it was so good they bought it out.

It takes you through some lovely places, just trust it, it’s clever. It takes about twenty hours of actual driving, so stops along the way will need to be added.

We've driven that route a couple of times when we've driven back from the UK.

It did save quite a lot on the tolls in the past but now the AP7 from Tarragona to Alicante is toll free I'm not sure if that is still the case.

I would just add that you can cut a couple of big corners by heading to Zaragoza via Pamplona and from Zaragoza to Valencia via Teruel.
