We are looking at booking PDI early June 2020 for a week. Looking for advice as to self catering or AI???

We are planning a holiday that’s a mixture of lounging around the pool relaxing and getting out to the beach as well as experiencing all the fun PDI has to offer.

Can people advise on the cost of food, drink, clubs etc?

We like self catering and go for a bungalow set up, there's loads in pdi.

Eating out is well priced and plenty of good places to go. Also with the bungalow set up a trip to the local supermarket and you can eat a cheap salad on your own patio.

We do both.

All inclusive suits is for 7 days as we cant be arsed running around looking for a decent restaurant every night and we spend the same or more in food and drinks anyway.

For three weeks we would do self catering as we couldn't stand eating the all inclusive food for that long and chances are we would cook our own meals at least half of the three weeks and we always have breakfast in the apartment if we are sc

We're back to the Abora Caterina for a week next month and we know we can walk to the dunes after breakfast, go back to the roof terrace mid afternoon just chill with a few drinks then back for a shower and down for an early dinner and a few drinks. Back to the room for a snooze, shower and walk over to Cita for a night of fun, sleep, rewind and repeat. That's our week.

November probably three weeks when we will spend a few days touring round the island, trying different villages and restaurants and a bit more of a relaxing holiday.... Although we usually end up in a club every night lol

All inclusive every time. Not a huge difference in price. Also eat out on occasions

We did half board in October and hated it. Liked the breakfast but don’t want to be tied down to dinner in the hotel. Will be self catering this time

I’d say go for self catering or B&B at Gold. There are loads of places to eat for all budgets and it gets you out of the hotel/apartment...

Try and get a room with at least a fridge then you have cold drinks sorted as well

Ha.. Greentits!! We stayed there on our first trip 5 years ago to PDI when we didn’t know any different . never again.. pool was OK, staff were rude but the food was hideous.. and that was just the breakfast.. we didn’t do AI thank goodness.. Day 2 I (Mrs) refused point blank to even step in the dining/buffet room.

I am sure others will chip in that it’s fantastic, it has a loyal returning crowd but it wasn’t for us.

Each to their own

I would recommend Gold, it’s the place we love to stay.. brekkie is great, pool is lovely although no nude area, guests and staff are fantastic as adults only, and you can self cater or eat out at many different restaurants that cater for all budgets Mrs x
