Jet 2 have cancelled all their Monday flights from stansted I think. Ours was cancelled swopped it to a Tuesday and added an extra couple of days on the end staying in the suite hotel mid october can’t wait.

I think TUI are doing a similar thing, but not offering alternatives, which are available.

The playa del sol is a beautiful hotel right bang next to the yumbo. Although I didnt stay there, I did meet a lady on a couple occasions and went back to this hotel. Also spent a day here, lovely pool area. Great food at the bar. Was going here in may but now way too expensive and its gay pride so itll be packed. Fab choice though

We ve booked from 22nd aug till 29th . Not sure what to do but friends in gran can and the uk have stated a petition on change dot org to get the quarantine lifted for Canaries and Balearic islands . Similar to the one the the Azores and Madeira have in Portugal.

Should have added. Won’t be visiting any clubs this time, we have booked a place where we know we can social distance and more if required whilst still enjoying some sun.

I wonder where we stand regarding getting money back on our accommodation if only the flights are cancelled? We have paid for our own flights and 2 separate venues for accom. in advance. The hoteliers will say that they did not cancel so they will not refund. Do you think travel insurance will pay out?

Before this thread turns into chaos as we all booked this destination as well as our Fab accounts for a particular reason but until a vaccine is found we'll all be in this isolation bubble for months maybe years, what are everyone's plans whilst in resort?

We're not just gonna stay confined to our room and even a dip in the pool or a surface missed by a cleaner before our arrival poses a risk such as the amount of people that shop at Iceland and all lift that same freezer handle.

With anything comes risk but we'll be visiting Imagine Bar every night and taking it from there.

So what are your plans?

Please be respectful to what others submit even if you don't agree, there's so much bad blood and nastiness in other forums and I want us all to be united even if we don't agree with other people's plans

Well said, each to their own, if we make the journey, we will probably behave exactly as we have before, which will consist of visits to bars and clubs, although we would hope to be staying in Venus star, so we won’t feel the need for bars and clubs every night, but we would never judge those that choose to do so.

If our flights are not cancelled and the advice changes and the canaries come off the no go list. Then we will be going. If not then so be it we will reschedule for next year. Who knows what the future holds it changes like the wind at the moment.

If the flight is going and the hotel is open then we will be there in oct and as both of us have worked all through this and had 2 holidays canceled so far this year we need a good holiday we will worry about the 2-weeks quarantine when we get back

We are based in Asia flying to UK mid September - Therefore looking to hit PDI around 10th October _ our first time - we can see hotel names on threads and guess nightlife is around the Yumbo centre but can anyone recommend beat days to fly/ best airport in order to avoid flight cancellations please?

I would book flights and hotel separately, easyJet seem to be doing OK at the moment.

Regarding hotels search around the hotel comparison sites as some let you pay for your stay upon arrival.

Yumbo has a lot to offer but we always end up in the Cita Centre.

One thing you must do is go to the Imagine Bar in the Cita Centre on your first night, the guys there and the whole bar is awesome, so are the lovely and beautiful people that go there.

Mingle and chat and find out what appeals to you both.

We have booked 2-9 October, fingers crossed we get there! Staying in Maspalomas but will head to Imagine most nights to check in and see what’s happening. We will play it by ear and see how the evenings go, no expectations, it’ll just be lovely to get away (if we do!) .

That's your choice. Flights are still going, the Foreign office have advised against non essential travel and you have to quarantine for 14days on your return. Your travel insurance may be void, so check that. things may change for the better

Gran Canaria and Lanzarote currently have about a dozen so-called hot zones, that is a rate of infection where more than 100 cases of coronavirus have been detected out of every 100,000 inhabitants in the Accumulated Index (AI) of cases declared over the previous seven days.

On Gran Canaria more than half the municipalities on the island now currently exceed this threshold. “In these places we have made the most restrictive decisions” explained Torres adding that confinement (known by many as “lockdown”) as was declared during the state of emergency would only need to be re-established if the rate of infection rose to 600 or more positives per 100,000 inhabitants over the previous seven days. No I don't think any clubs are open. Some bars are closed too, if they don't serve food, they can't open. Bars have to close at 1am.
