"This is not good news, who remembers Monarch ???"
Nightmare, GC flights are usually full, would think that would make them profitable? Suppose it's about the bigger picture. We have a very limited choice of Airports / Airlines here, would be terrible to lose any and there's talk of Ryanair pulling out of GC. Hope it works out for you... |

From what we read they had an extension on discussions until 30th September....if a deal is struck all ok but a large percentage of share holders have to agree to it so they are not out of the water yet |

I work at Stansted for jet2 and know Thomas cook have been in trouble for a while. They are hoping a Chinese company called forsun is going to buy then out. 1st of October was the dates that monarch and primera announced they were ceasing business. Hoping you all find good alternatives xx |

"mate and his mrs supposed to be flying to mexico nxt friday with them not looking good for them been booked for bout six months and they paid cash so there screwed if it goes tits up"
Not necessarily.
If they have booked a full package they should be ATOL protected.
If they are flight only then you are probably right. They're screwed. |

We really hope everything goes well, we got fucked over when monarch went tits up the other year so we know how you are feeling at the moment.
We still got away though as we had booked through an online travel company who got us new flights, although it cost us more and we had to change airports. |

We only had the outbound flight booked (booked back in Feb). Fortunately there was/is a Tui flight at a slightly earlier time on the same day that still had seats.
Booked those but cost us another £125 over what was already paid. Fortunately paid TC by credit card so I will claim that back.
It has been a mad couple of hours. |

just rebooked with TUI from Birmingham got the same dates and almost the same times as my Thomas Cook flights
14 Oct to 21st
Not cheap at £388 but better than loosing our Venus Star booking as no refunds would be given.
now got to find a way of claiming back from Thomas Cook or my credit card |

We go the week before you on the 7th and booked the Tui flight on the same day as you did.
Just been and checked and the TUI flight (on the 7th) is fully booked now. The later ryan air flight is now at £160 where it was £63 at 8am this morning |

Will probably effect Jet2 prices from Belfast but consider that as an option? To date, always
considerably cheaper than Aer Lingus when we've been comparing prices |

We read that too but also read there just going to stop using GC as a base and that flights in and out of the island will be unaffected? I guess it’s just a matter of wait and see in the New Year x |
