We have been a couple of times but with people who we know.
The problem is that it is very small. As I understand they are in a catch 22 situation. If it takes off they want to move to bigger premises, but not attracting enough people so far. Not been since last November, we are south of Alicante, so maybe it has taken off more. |

Well.. as the person that manages the movement in the club i can say that its going well for a new club that is located in a city that has no club history and tourism on certain months only. We do not need a bigger club for now - no need to have a 1000 square metres if on the weekdays there is only a few couples, that happens to clubs in alicante - they seem empty then and people complain. Remember that a couple only needs one compatible couple not a hundred to have fun we are happy with 3 or 4 couples everyday and a bunch on weekends, that way everybodys together and not lost in hundreds square meters... benidorm is not suitable for a bigger club, there is no swinger tradition there. |

Some very good points and wel put. The main thing it is going as you want it, which is great.
If we ever stay over in Benidorm ( which is not often) will always pop in. |

We’re not English we are Scottish and we would have stayed if the staff made us feel welcome but sadly that was not the case and after paying €30 for entrance we did not expect to pay €5 for 1 cola. We will not be back so it is of no loss to you but we will let our friends know not to go to your club as there was no apology or reason for rudeness of the staff.

Sorry that the lady seemed rude - she is spanish and does not speak much english so might not have been her intention to be rude...
And about the prices - sorry but u can say anything about that. We are in spain. Any club will charge you 30 40 or 50 euros entrance and any extra drink will be 10 euros! Doesnt matter if its a cola or whisky cola. So we actually charge half... while sustaining the only club in Benidorm, a city that is not swinger friendly at all... |

Firstly, we think Cupido's is a great club and we are big fans especially when its busy and especially when the owner is there, but we agree that maybe the prices do need a little 'fine tuning' as we all want the club to succeed and be profitable for the owners.
Obviously, most people would agree that €5 is too much for a soft drink in any establishment, but we understand that it also has to be worth their while to sell drinks to make a profit and they wouldn't make much at €1 or €2 a drink and then obviously and the club wouldn't be able to continue, but I agree that the price of soft drinks and single beers could do with being reduced, the Spirits and Mixers are fine at €5 as you would expect to pay this at clubs but maybe a ‘three tier’ price list (Soft Drinks/Water – Beer – Spirits) or introducing an ‘happy hour’ on beers when the club is quiet would be good and might make people more inclined to stay when the club is quiet, as personally we would be more likely to go on a quiet evening and stay and drink there for longer rather than walking away if the prices were more reasonable, a club I’ve been to before used to have a happy hour when the club was quiet and had a neon sign lit saying happy hour, once it got busier it was switched off and drinks were back to full price, I also think that selling wine might be a good idea as last year my partner and the lady we met there both wanted a glass of wine and probably would have purchased a bottle but this was not available for them to buy.
I think it’s a very ‘fine line’, they have to make enough money to stay open and profitable and keep the prices high enough to keep the right sort of clientele going, but also keep the clientele happy when the club is quieter.
On one occasion we ordered a Jack Daniels from the bar lady and the owner told us before she poured it, that it was premium spirt and more expensive, so I assume that on your visit the owner was not there as she has always treated us very fairly and told us prices of drinks before we committed to having them.
I think a lot of UK people are used to taking their own drinks to clubs as a lot don’t have licences to sell alcohol in the UK and are a little shocked at the Spanish prices, but it is not the UK and we have to sometimes accept that other countries do things a little differently.
We really do hope that the club does succeed for her and I’m sure she would be open to any comments or ideas to make the club more enjoyable rather than just criticism.
We arrive on Sunday, so we will be visiting again very soon!

Thank you hunnies for support
We always try to explain to people that its not a normal bar... lets say on a weekend its 30 euros for a couple to enter - that includes 2 drinks, rooms, beds, towels, shower and unlimited time till closing. If you go to any normal bar in the summer they can charge you 7 or even 10 euros for a mixed drink, just for sitting on a plastic chair and only as long as the drink lasts... |

And just to compare...so u know. Do you know how much does the rubish service costs to us a month? 120 euros. Thats 4 couples entire entrance fees on a weekend just to pay for the garbage to be taken out. Oh and its a service that doesnt work - we actually have to take it to containers ourselves. So imagine the other costs involved into having a bussiness in Benidorm... |
