A post intended to share our views on the swinging clubs/bars we attended in November 15, April 16 and November 17.
We have left reviews of clubs that are no longer open, to provide some history and save you the trouble if you are looking.
Naturally this is subjective and any given day, at any given venue can be different. But with an abundance of venues, there is definitely something there for everyone.

2x2 - CC La Sandia (Located East Side, below ground level)
Visited Monday night as it was couples only. Registered online for a VIP pass where you get BOGOF drinks for their 10-11 happy hour.
No charge, nicely done out open bar area with friendly staff. The Pink lookalike makes a mean strawberry mojito!
Second section play area including a car to play in.
Very busy with sexy couples and a nice add-on is that they have an outside smoking area, very unique as most clubs smoke inside. (Review November 2015)
Visited Monday for couples only night and had the same experience as our visit two years ago. No longer a Pink lookalike but a fantastic strawberry mojito!
Met a few pleasant people and would still recommend 2x2.
Definitely couples not looking for single men, a Monday is recommended, as discussions with locals and tourists suggest it can be a bit full on with single men on other nights. So if you are looking for single men, a night outside Monday would be worth considering. (Review November 2017)

Secret - CC Cita
From the leaning tower side (East Side - Av. de Alamania), the first club on the right when heading to the basement. Minimum €10 spend for couples and 10-11 happy hour, buy one get one free.
Over 900m2 of club, probably the biggest club and very nicely kitted out.
Staff are friendly and OCD, which is great in a club as you know it is going to be clean and hygienic. The team go out their way to welcome you and we have nothing but positive words to share about this club.
Hottub available, you pay €2 for a locker with two towels.
As a mixed venue, There is a couples only area.
Smoking is inside, but as a large club it isn't as noticeable as smaller venues. Highly recommend a visit here and possibly our favourite club. Visited Thursday (twice) Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Very busy all nights, slightly quieter on Sunday than the previous three. (Review November 2015)
Subjectively, this is hands down our favourite club. We love the owners and our lovely friend behind the bar. They even arranged a party on my birthday!
Putting this to one side, we think the atmosphere at Secret is a young vibe. The staff behind the bar are warm, friendly and mischievous. Plenty of banter between them and also with guests. The music is predominantly Latin beats and typically current. With Latin music hitting our mainstream, it’s music you can feel familiar with.
The weekends are typically busier and have a European mix. Plenty of playing in the couples rooms.
Lockers are now €5 though the drinks have stayed the same price more or less.
They make fantastic cocktails and the sugar sweet and piña colada are two of our recommendations for the sweeter tooth swingers. (Review November 2017)

Fun4All - CC Cita
Next door to Secret.
Again a mixed venue and minimum €10 couple spend.
Smaller environment but very friendly.
Plenty of couples, appeared more sociable than some places like 2x2 where play is a higher focus, in our experience of one visit in each place.
A bit smoky for us as the venue is smaller and lots of smokers.
Definitely worth a visit. (Review November 2015)
Again, consistent with our previous visits from last April and two years ago. Plenty of couples and we have found the mix is typically British, Irish, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, German and Dutch.
It is a small venue but this isn’t a bad thing as it brings people closer together and becomes a social arena with lots of dancing. My biggest criticism would be the playlist of music is still the same from two years before, to the point I knew what song was on next. However, it is music that al nations seem to know and sing along too. Summer of 69 belted out by 5 different nations may not be a bad thing after all.
I’ll certainly be there in April 2018 for my fix of Black Eyes Peas Dirty Beat, as I believe Fun4All is the only club in the world, swinging or otherwise that plays this song!
We found this time round that is was less smoky than normal, which was encouraging. (Review November 2017)

Venus - CC Cita
Visited on Saturday for couples night. States that they open at 21:30, but appeared to be open at 22:00 like most clubs.
Lovely decor, quite a few couples but similar to Fun4All, it seemed to be the older age groups that attended.
Friendly staff though not as friendly as Secret & Full Swap. Gave us a club tour, but didn't explain the charges.
It's €10 minimum spend, but if you use the hot tub and play areas, then minimum spend is €20, plus you pay €3 or €4 for a locker and towel (although this is included in the total spend).
This left a bit of a bad taste in our mouth and think they could make charges far simply given there are many nationals that visit Gran Canaria. (Review November 2015)
Currently closed, as Venus has moved. It’s still located in the Cita Basement a few doors away. Rumour is that it will reopen December 2017, so look forward to attending April 2018. Location is past Secret, Fun4All and Singing German bar & take the first left. Ahead you will see Bunny’s VIP Club. If you get to Bunny’s you have gone too far, as the door is on the right hand side before this, near a closed place called Chaps. (Review November 2017)

Full Swap - CC Cita (CLOSED)
Diagonal and in the other corner to Secret and probably the first club you would get to from the Eifel Tower entrance.
This club is new to the centre and one we think will be a hit. It's got fantastic decor, very clean and two young sexy girls that are attentive, affable and welcoming.
Compared to Fun4All and Venus, I'd expect this place, whilst laid back, should attract the younger audience and the young at heart.
Like all new clubs, it needs time to build up a reputation and it will get busier. You can imagine our delight when we were club hopping and saw three sexy young couples at different venues, all finally make their way into Full Swap. Definitely a great place to visit and I think I would love to see this club open at 8pm and be a meeting point, as well as a club to hang out until 6am! (Review November 2015)
Full Swap is now closed and a ‘gentleman’s club. (Review November 2017)
******************************************************
Afridita - CC Cita (CLOSED)
Unfortunately we never got to visit this club. It is now running as a gentleman’s club and they need to update the signs, which still say Swingers Club. (Review November 2017)

Eternity - CC Nilo
Where most clubs are situated in Cita and Sandia is only 400 metres away, the Nilo centre is in the North part of PDI.
We went on Friday, as we heard it is a place to visit. Saturday apparently has more couples.
€20 entrance, which includes two drinks. €1 for a locker that includes 2 towels, 2 flip flops & 2 condoms.
There were some hot young couples here and a nice hot tub, but we didn't feel the staff as welcoming as other clubs. There was no tour and the club didn't feel as clean as others.
What was disappointing was to see a door of a dark room open and two used condoms on the floor. I know this can happen at any club and you cannot blame the staff for this, but parts looked a bit run down and maybe this gets reflected in some clientele not caring about the club. It certainly didn't leave a good first impression. I think we would try this club again but probably on a Saturday. (Review November 2015)
Our first experience of this place when we visited on a Friday wasn't the most positive. We gave it the benefit of the doubt and had two Saturday nights here.
A complete contrast from the first. Much busier and lots of sexy couples. Staff were warm and welcoming and Jose was fantastic.
Definitely one to visit! (Review April 2016)
Another 2 Saturdays spent at Eternity, albeit a bit later than usual. Ideally it is best to visit from 11pm, rather than 1am. Of all the clubs, this definitely has a more Spanish/Local feel and if you want to swing with the locals, then Saturday is a good night to attend. We do find that Eternity does get attended by quite a few German couples also.
It’s still €20 to attend as a couple and includes 2 drinks. Lockers are now €1, which is returned out of the locker when you put you key in.
Thank you Jose for the birthday cake and champers xx (Review November 2017)

Moonlight Dreams - CC Nilo
Next door to Eternity and is relatively new. They have different theme nights each day including a €30 unlimited drinks night on Wednesdays. And couples night on Sundays.
We went on Sunday, though it was at 2am with an hour left until closing. There were about 6 German couples who, like the owners, were friendly and welcoming.
We assume that quite a few German Swingers reside close to the Nilo, as we’ve met quite a few in this area.
The club is fresh, clean and have around 5 swinging summer huts with beds. Some lockable.
We look forward to visiting again but going earlier next time. (Review November 2017)

Tu y Yo - CC San Agustin, then Nilo (CLOSED)
Unfortunately a club we didn’t visit but was rumoured to be good. It moved to Nilo & I understand is now replaced as Eternity. (Review November 2017)

Pubs/Bars
******************************************************
Kiosk4 - Nudist Beach Maspalomas
Situated on the south side. Walk through the archway of the riu hotel then through the dunes for 15 minutes and you will see a kiosk with a rainbow flag. This is the gay nudist beach and to the right of this is the "swinging" nudist beach and kiosk4.
Simple and great for a drink in the open air and sun. Plenty of dunes around for people to have fun in, though we didn't experience. A meeting point for swingers during the day. (Review November 2015)
We went to Kiosk 4 a few times and each time the bar was heaving, the beds packed out with lots of nudists and swingers. A good vibe and plenty of socialising at the bar from people of all nations. We drank Kopparberg Cider for €4. (Review November 2017)
******************************************************
Comeback bar - CC Cita (top floor)
A small bar and typically a meeting point for swingers before they venture off to the clubs or stay and mingle. (Review November 2015)
There had been some concerns that this bar had closed. On the contrary, it’s the busiest we have seen it and was heaving a few times. We seen to observe more Europeans than British/Irish but I think that could be down to Imagine Bar being more aligned to our culture. (Review November 2017)

Poison - CC Cita (basement) (CLOSED)
For the nervous swingers, this would be a better option as it is a more discreet venue. Straight down the basement, past Secret and Fun4All and turn right. It is at the end with no other place in sight.
It is small and cosy, looked friendly and welcoming. Everyone we have spoken with have been positive about this place.
So whilst it wasn't our cup of tea and appealing to us, that's not to cross it off the list as people we the highest respect for, really enjoyed this venue. Our main concern was the size of the venue and that as non smokers (one with asthma) we were concerned that the smoke in the air would hang on us. (Review November 2015)
Unfortunately no longer open. The owners have opened a new place on the top floor that is vanilla. There is rumour they will have a swingers night once a week, but to date nothing concrete. (Review November 2017)
******************************************************
Imagine Bar - CC Cita (Top floor)
Previously located in CC Gran Chaparral and now located on the top floor of the Cita Centre. Best way to find Imagine Bar is to come in from Av. de Alamania (Leaning Tower entrance) and go straight up the stairs (stairs going down are to the swinging clubs). You’ll see Mach bar in front of you. Immediately turn left, past Marco Polo and Carlos V, then turn right. Keep walking and it’s on your left.
Imagine Bar is for us THE meeting point and THE place to be before hitting the clubs. A good size, with nice decor and an excellent choice of drinks. The bar is for us the missing piece of the Cita Centre. Now there is an excellent meeting point before going on to a club, or even to stay back and enjoy a social night. The owners are fantastic and have given the place a very British/Irish/North European feel.
They have a couple of girls working there who are absolutely lovely and make you feel welcome. This is driven from the top down, so you can expect a relaxed, friendly environment, you can’t go far wrong at the Imagine Bar.
Personally, if possible, I would love to see Imagine Bar offer some hot/cold snacks. (Review November 2017)

Bude 4 - CC La Sandia (Located East Side, below ground level)
To the right of 2x2. Was toying between defining this as a pub or a club. Opted for a pub, as it’s quite a relaxed feel. It is immaculate and very impressive in decor. The owner has put in a lot of effort and self pride into her club.
It is very German and we personally found the owner warm and friendly.
It’s a minimum €10 spend.
We definitely would recommend using it as a pitstop before 2x2 and if you speak some German, you’ll definitely have a better experience here. (Review November 2017)

I hope the above provides some good information for people planning to visit Playa Del Ingles and Gran Canaria.
In terms of accommodation, we find if you can source accommodation close to the Yumbo Centre, then you are central to the three centres that have swinging venues (Nilo to the north of the Yumbo, La Sandia just below East, and Cita to the South. All around a €3 Taxi ride or 15/20 minute walk).
There are many great places including the Yumbo Centre to eat, drink and party. This is a lot of gay clubs and cabarets such as Ricky's and Sparkles that you can enjoy the drag queen shows. If you are a straight man, then the cruising clubs are not for you and you may want to give them a miss.
The China Town buffet is fantastic value for money and do a fantastic sangria. Really friendly staff. Divinity is a karaoke bar for a song and a laugh.
The Kasbah Centre has a Brasilian club, if you fancy some salsa and dancing and close by is Little Brasil for a churroscaria (eat as much meat) experience. |
