Car Hire Fuerteventura

Jump to: Newest in thread

Hi,

My wife wants us to hire a car when on holiday in Fuerteventura in a couple of weeks.

Had a look in the forums and Cigar seems to be the best hire company but where on the island should we visit?

We are staying in Corralejo. I would rather chill on the beach but have relented and will hire a car for a few days.

"Hi,

It's worth having a car to visit the lagoons north of El Cotillo and surfing beaches to the south of the town. Also good for getting to the dunes to the south of Corralejo. Worth going over the mountains to the ancient capital of Betancuria. In the far South try Sotovento, Jandia and Morro Jable.

La Pared is beautiful. Ajuy and the caves there are worth seeing. Pozo Negro if you like splendid isolation. For a stunning viewpoint, Las Penitas close to Betancuria.

We used Cicar last year so went to them again this year they wanted £435.00 for 3 weeks, tried Autoreisen £168.00 for the 3 weeks and pickup across from arrivals at airport.

Auto Reisen are the no1 choice on all the Canary Islands! We have used them loads of times on F and GC and never had a problem, no add ons, airport pick ups and always the best prices if you book ahead . ( but don’t confuse with Top car auto reisen )

Cicar, Payless or Top car (autoreisen) are all good cant stress enough avoid Goldcar they are terrible. Lagoons at El Cotillo are great. Ajuy is nice. Benturia (not spelt that right I dont think) is the old capital and v nice. Puerto Rosario the capital for shopping. For me just driving on some of the roads is the best bit some of the view are spectacular with Mirador Morro Velosa probable the best view I've seen.

its a great place enjoy anywhere

Better to pick car up at airport, no waiting for the coach to drop off everyone else before getting to your hotel, then on the way home, waiting outside your hotel for the coach to pick you up then everyone else.
