I am hoping to visit in September for the first time.
No booked as yet so any help or recommendations on accommodation greatly received.
Is it worth hiring a car to get too and from the airport? |

We like to get out a bit when there so we always hire a car. Transfers are good and reliable though if you want a cheaper option and don't want to get out. There are plenty of bars in the door step but it will be relatively quiet in Sept. There aren't any good restaurants though which is one of the reasons for a car for us.
We always stay at the vp club hotel. It's not the cheapest option but good value for money and we find it a better atmosphere. Many book apartments which I am sure are cheaper but we prefer the feel of the hotel. |

Hi thanks for the info
Didn't realise it would be quiet in September obviously not as busy as the night of summer how quiet is quiet?
Think I will hire a car as normally not much difference in transfer costs and like you say nice to have the option to go out exploring or a meal out.
I was thinking on a apartment/villa but will look into the hotel you mentioned always nice to get some feedback.
Had a busy six month so looking for a relaxing week in the sunshine |

I think the data will be ok but the bars will be quiet. Having said that we got here yesterday and it was the quietest we have seen it of a night. Busy in the day though.
As far as accommodation goes it's just self preference but 100% hotel for us.
If you deside to get a car I will tell you some nice places to visit and restaraumts etc.
I would say this place is 50 - 50 naturist and swingers but the swinging scene can be difficult for us non Spanish. |

Horses for courses I guess.
Personally there is no way I would live here. It's great for a visit but not enough going on fir me. I know people who live here on the site so I will put you in touch with them when I see them. Clearly they will have a different view from me.
The naturism is great here and the swinging is very hit and miss but isn't it always. We haven't tried the club but from what I gather it's very clicky? Others may know more.
Majacar Pueblo and Majacar Player are well worth a visit. |

we will watch this post with interest as we are in same position, would like to buy in Spain but not quite sure where. Vera has a lovely naturist beach which we love but in October when we went it was quiet, although it all seemed to be open. Mojacar would be busier and if you have a car a short drive to naturist beach |

We are also looking to buy in the area and were out last month looking. We went to the club and thought it was great! Lots of action and very friendly. Also obviously very Spanish and as we dont speak the language that made it a little more tricky to mingle......but we managed just fine! |

If you are thinking of buying be very careful with illegal villas in the countryside. Anything built in the last 10 years or so could be illegal. Never trust estate agents. Always employ a lawyer from out of the area to check the legality, etc |

Then there's Brexit and how that will affect our plans to consider. Most importantly is finding the perfect location to move to. Combination of reasonable house prices. Location, size of expat community, ease of cheap flights, swinger community etc

Would love to hear from anyone living there what is there to do all year where you all shop, markets, tv I'd still need to get football and ginger would want the tennis etc is the area dog friendly. Are there places to learn language. What does the swing scene compromise there etc |
