Hey all,
We'd like a bit of assistance if anyone can help out.
We are planning a short break 7-9 days in PDI either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd week in November.
Our current dilema is do we book now or a week or two before we travel. The reason for delaying booking is that currently getting loads of last minute deals which are considerably cheaper than the normal price for holidays in the next 2-6weeks. On that premise would expect to be offered gd deals for PDI mid to end of October....any advice will be kindly appreciated.
Thanks |

Thanks that's a gd idea.
Found flights at a nice price.
Bit of a dilema over self catering or all inc for accommodation. To be fair it seems as though we could visit the Caribbean for the same money.... |

"weve done self catering
beer&food is cheap in the supermarkets, and we eat out every night . your not tied in to your hotel all day/night . "
Thanks for letting us know.
Another couple advised us that maspalomas is a nice area to stay in so going to look for accommodation there.
Going to keep hunting for accommodation as think we'd prefer to be booked and ready to go sooner than later.
We've been told that Gran Canaria is busy in November and we'd like to visit somewhere quite lively but also be able to enjoy a bit of quiet time too which by the sounds of it so far is the case.
Without being rude and certainly no intention of offending anyone, is Gran Canaria in November likely to be for an older crowd ? We are no spring chickens but still enjoy clubs bars and dancing into the early hours of the next day. Be nice if there were people of a similar age |

Hi there
I live and work in GC.do you need help with accomodation? Hotels are more expensive than apartments. Supermarkets not expensive. Public transports are not too expensive also.
The island is busy in Nov but you have Many differents option to choose.
Maspalomas área (near the lighthouse) is very new and cool area.
I'm co-mánager in a little resort in Maspalomas beach.
Write me a private message for more details.

In general you will find all age groups there, but in the swinging clubs and in our experience, you do find older people there. |

Thanks for the advice and we totally agree. Long may everyone keep enjoying life however they choose.
If anyone can suggest clubs/bars that are more popular with local Spanish and/or slightly younger crowd, would be nice to hear where to go. |

Dont leave it too late. November is busy. Best time 2 week to include party on the beach 11/ 11. You may find that booking package is cheaper than flights and accomodation seperate..unless your willing to suffer bad flight times. We would stay in PDI because you need less taxis. Anymore info feel free to PM us. Enjoy |

Thank you for your input, massively appreciate how helpful everyone has been either on the forum or via PM.
We've found flights at an absolute bargain with gd flight times.
Got a few front runners for accomodation too.... |

OMG!!
No idea how I ever get anything done as I'm too indecisive !
Playa Del Inglais vs Maspalomas
I know both have their advantages, would like to hear what the majority think about either location over the other.
We've found some very nice options in both locations. |

We would stay in PDI, purely because that's where all the meeting bars and swinging clubs are. Depends what you want. You would have to cab from maspalomas, however, it's only about €5/6 each way. Maspalomas is a nicer area, restaurants etc. In always think PDI is a bit commercialised, but that's where all the action is. Are there any particular hotels you're looking at? |

I do both Maspalomas and PDI.
Have you thought of say a few days at Sandy Golf or any bungalows on Campo International in Maspalomas. Then a good hotel like Seaside Sandy Beach for the rest of the holiday ?.
Both will take 3/4 night booking and I would suggest staying in a hotel in PDI over the
weekend to avoid a mass of locals in Maspalomas. |

We'd certainly like to be where there are more people and more activities going on in general, it sounds as though PDI would be our option for that. We've a luxury holiday in Feb so have to wait until then for finer surroundings potentially.
Swinging isn't the basis of our holiday more of an added bonus.
We keep chopping and changing our idea for hotel, Margaritas looks gd. Might go A/I with Thompson although original plan was to book it ourselves separately. Also been offered gd deals @ Labranda hotels amongst others. Do oh have any experience of these ? |

Thanks for the idea makes sense although I think I'd go barmy trying to split it up, it's all too much for me just trying to find one hotel lol.
We very much would like to mix and interact with the locals as well as other tourists so appriciate you letting us know where to be able to do that.
Any idea which swingers spots (bars/clubs) are popular with the locals ? |

"We staying at maspalomas club bungalows , cheap Clean and friendly.
Close to beach with free shuttle bus,
Only 5 euro taxi ride to PDI.
First week in November. "
Thank you. Will check them out, is that located in the golf course area ? Seems to be ALOT of accomodation on offer in that area and looks nice too. Just don't know if it's a bit out of the way for our first trip to GC. |
