Hello, I been asked to go to maspalomas? In march with some mates. I've heard it quite a good place for partying. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the scene there and where the best hang outs etc are?

Can I suggest you put this in the Spain forum. You will see loads of info there. Not sure what you're looking for whilst you are there. If you are looking to go to the swinging clubs, you will struggle to get in, as a group of single men, as they limit amount of single guys they let in. You will be best to go into playa del ingles, for nightlife, short cab ride from maspalomas.

You're welcome. Most swinging clubs are in Cita centre. Secrets may be one that is easier to get in for single guys. There is also a meeting bar called Imagine on top floor, open to anyone. There are 2 good clubs in Nilo centre, but they are aimed more towards couples. The 2x2 club is in la sandia centre and they have a greedy girls night on a Sunday, so more single guys are let in.

They can get crazy, yes! Swingers tend to congregate at kiosk 4, on maspalomas beach. This is just a beach bar and there will be vanilla people there too! However, you may see couples wandering off into the dunes behind the kiosk, looking for fun. Often there are lots of single guys following these couples, some welcome them and others really don't. So something to be aware off.

Sadly fun in the Dunes is dying off now. When we went last February and September there were only about 3/4 couples in the Dunes.

Even the local guys have now admitted, that the fun has moved from the Dunes to the club's.

You may find a few couples willing to play in the Dunes, so good luck.

If it's windy when we go February, we will move back into the Dunes, but to sunbathe only xxxxx Suzi

Yes Suzi, we had heard the same when we were there in October. We tend to go to PDI nudist beach, just to sunbathe and there are more single guys hanging around there, some have become a nuisance, but they are normally the local guys

From Maspalomas Princess, kiosk 4 is closer for us. But February can whip up some horrible sand storms, and the wind is cooler. I get goose bumps if it's below 28 degrees, so the dunes offer some good ready made wind breakers. xxxxx Suzi

The wind is a problem, unfortunately. When we went in October, we only got on the beach, 3 times in the fortnight. We lay in the dunes behind kiosk 8, but there is little vegetation there to protect you from sand storms! We keep looking for the little orange shelters that the Germans use, but can't find them anywhere on the internet.

We've looked for those too. We have bought windbreaker before, but they've been a disaster. Can't put them up like the Germans can. We've watched them in complete awe.... one minute they're in a bag the next minute...wham theyre up xxxxx Suzi

I know, they are amazing! The strong winds are a pain though and they seem to get worse. We're not pool people, so it is annoying if we can't get on the beach! XCarole

Yes we saw those also! I bet there are loads of people looking for them. I'm really surprised nowhere in PDI has latched onto these, they'd make a fortune.

Zurich. NOT London.

Pop-up beach shelter?

We use one when we goto Studland, lightweight and cheap (about £13), think it came from argos?

Why does time slow down while waiting for a holiday, yet fly in minutes at most other times Role on 12th of March, get a move on!!!

We needed assistance back in November ( no prizes for guessing the help's nationality) and wished we'd paid closer attention. You need a few of the stones beside Kiosk 4 to help anchor it down as the thin stakes which hook onto the base frame are not so good in sand.

Shall be practicing construction the closer it gets to 24th March
