May go to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the winter - wondering, does anyone else prefer cities, with local culture, or does everyone go to the resorts, e.g. around Maspolomas?

And if anyone knows Las Palmas, is there much swinging in the city itself?

(Nothing's set in stone: we also want there to be a kids' club, which may limit our options. And we may choose Tenerife, or may go snowboarding.)
