If you want something the standard of Gold, or better, have a look at the Marieta. Great rooms, great staff and an utterly spectacular roof terrace. Down side, it's not so handy to La Sandia, or Cita. That was a big plus for Gold, falling out of the Clubs and only a short stagger back to the hotel lol |

We stayed in the Caterina in March, have to say we weren't that impressed. For an all inclusive hotel there was an awful lot of 'extras' that needed paying for. We are staying at the Sol next month. |

What "extras" do you have to pay for as we are staying in November |

We found that not all the food was included in the all inclusive, even some soft drinks had to be paid for. You have to pay extra for wifi, safe and pool towels. We spoke to the manager who told us they aren't really an all inclusive hotel, it's just the British holiday companies that force them into offering that package. The main corridor to our room was long and unimpressive, no art work or plants. In our room we ran out of hand soap and toilet roll and had to ask for them to be replaced. We had to ask them to fix the fridge at it didn't chill anything. It just really wasn't the standard that we would expect from a 4 star hotel. |

We have found that in the Barcelo but if you upgrade to the all inclusive plus, everything is free, including international branded drinks, they normally cost €8.00 a shot. But you get your own private sunbathing area and loads of extras that are normally chargeable. |
