I'd blame the Spanish language, but in all fairness I can't. Almost all Spanish words are spelt as they sound. Just the odd double LL or RR
thrown in to confuse us.

Yep. It's shocking that the Spaniards use their own language and spelling on their own island. For all those that need a translation it's the Riu Oliva Beach in Corralejo, not the Rui Olivia Beach in Corralejo. Sorry to be a pedant but it it might help when you're giving your destination to a Spanish taxi driver. |
