We also catch the bus but instead of going to Alicante we go direct to Benidorm on the Alsa bus, it stops at Benidorm bus station for a few minutes then straight into middle of Benidorm (avda. europa) The bus leaves Alicante Airport on the hour every hour, a girl collects your fare just before the bus arrives and gives you a ticket, cost was about €9.50 each, hope this helps.

Benniconnect have different options, bus, private taxi, definitely the easiest as they are situated as soon as you walk out the arrival area
