HL Suites Hotel, PDI

HL suites is a beautiful hotel with a stunning naked roof terrace with jacouzis & a lovely indoor pool / sauna/ spa. The food however is very disappointing. Luke warm & limited choice ( see trip advisor reviews). It really is a shame because they have an enormous & stunning selection for desserts but the food itself is more 2 star than 4 star. We’ve stayed twice but now book the Bull Escorial as it’s cheaper, has lovely food & the rest of the hotel is on a par with HL Suites |

If you google the images on Bull Escorial, the naked roof terrace is a similar size but with decking rather than astroturf like suites. Escorial has a single jacouzi but it’s in the clothed section. Whilst the Bull Escorial isn’t adult only, we only saw 2 kids during our week there ( it wasn’t in the school holidays though). The Bull Escorial also has a naked section in its sauna. On balance HL suites aesthetically is the slightly nicer hotel but the food at the Bull Escorial was so nice we didn’t bother eating out which we normally do ( the dessert section is limited though ). For us the deciding factor was the food & the fact that it was approximately 30% cheaper than HL Suites. |

Thanks. We'll look into the Bull Escorial now.
A naked roof area is essential for us, and if the food is to a higher standard then that's a massive plus.
We don't mind getting taxi's to and from Cita now as that's just part of the holiday x |

"We usually stay in Abora Catarina, but are looking for a change for our Oct/Nov visit, and found the food has got worse.
HL Suites is around £400 more for the same week. Is it worth the extra? "
Yes, but Venus star is the best resort with great food |

I have been to both I’m returning to HL Suites in April as I prefer the food and quality of drinks
It’s also adults only
The nude terrace is far better than abora with great facilities

Going back to HL in June - love it.
The roof terrace is incredible with the sunken hot tubs. The bar in between the naturist and clothed areas is worth it by itself.
The drinks at the bar are definitely premium rather than budget brands.
We’ve stayed at Gold, Catarina. H10, Tabaiba but always go back to HL.
Food is a little bit hit and miss but we go out for dinner as part of the holidays and just enjoy the all inclusive during the day and pre- drinks.

HL is great we always use this place and the rooftop area, its location suits us.
The food is adequate and we tend to find what we need from the half board menu so you’ll not starve haha, we always pop out for the odd meal as a change anyway or have lunch down the Tipsy Hammock.
We visit end of October beginning of November it’s always more expensive for us visiting on the school breaks due to one of our jobs.
We may grab a quick break in the Whit week too but we will see.

We stayed at HL Suites last May, having previously stayed a number of times in both The Seaside Sandy Beach, and The Catarina, both also have nude sunbathing terraces.
The Catarina was always very busy, and we found the terrace predominantly 'managed' by some of our European friends, which did require some adjustments to the towelling arrangements. Food was ok. The Sandybeach, nude terraces good, always seemed to be enough space. The food was always good, and if all inclusive, you were just given a bottle of wine with the meal, if you wanted it. Nice.
We've only stayed at the Suites once, but we both loved the rooftop sun deck, being next to the bar was a bonus. The rooftop bar got quite busy in the evenings, when we went up there. We both thought the food was ok, but as we normally do, we head out a few evenings, for dinner, just to break up the buffet feeling.
All nice hotels, but all slightly different.
