2 nights and that’s your view ? Interesting comments no judgement here but pdi has so much to offer , would be interested to know where upset you that much and why ? Most look into a holiday and what’s on offer and make plans around it . Cultureless and classless pit tho haha it’s not a holiday destination I’d pick for culture but plenty on island  |

Gran Canaria is steeped in culture and history. It if you didn't ask Google or look at a map you probably wouldn't have found places like Teror and Las Palmas.
PDI is a holiday resort predominantly with German and Scandinavian tourists who want a good time so the locals do their best to provide that.
I'd be amazed if you weren't impressed by the Maspalomas dunes though, they're so good they are a UNESCO world heritage site.... Maybe the little stone circles in Fuerteventura have better character.

It is a beautiful island, but PDI does not show it at its best. Let's be honest, Cita and Yumbo are pretty awful when seen without the neon and wine tinted glasses. It's also not the place to go for a quiet naturist holiday. We have found places that we like, restaurants where we can enjoy an intimate dinner and enjoy 'our time.' We go to PDI to enjoy naked time with friends at Venus and good dinners with friends from all over the world we have met there. There are places worth visiting, but it seems that you missed them. Pity, PDI does have it's place, but we acknowledge it's shortfalls and enjoy out time there all the same. |

Mmmmm yeah there’s plenty of reasons why I can see why you would say this … yes the shopping centres aren’t great looking  and bits of pdi look like Blackpool ….
But the dunes , the lighthouse strip the neighbouring locations like mogan, amadores not too mention Las Palmas city , all are an easy bus trip all are amazing places … and yes very different to pdi…
My pdi holidays are relax on beach visit and go seek the local culture (it does exist), then at night there’s plenty of quality areas “before” hitting the less cultured cita/yumbo areas which albeit may not exude Spanish culture doesn’t mean you can’t have an awesome night !! |

This is so true, there are other more beautiful places to visit for sure (and we love visiting those places still) but we love our visits to this mad place too. X

Married couple new to the scene .weve been to the clubs in Gc and enjoyed them. Had fun playing with each other and watching others etc. looking to take the next step. We will be staying at Venus Star from Friday 22/03 to Tuesday 02/04, flaying to/from Stansted. First time staying at VS, hope we like it as we are booked to stay in May and December / New Year as well, along with a stay at La Mirage in July. |

I don’t think anyone was offended, unless a local maybe, but more surprised at a harsh judgement in such a short space of time.
I think if you were drawn to the naturist element, then I’m not sure what your source was because whilst there is some, I wouldn’t really associate GC with naturism. There are far better places more equipped to give you a better naturist experience.
I’m not sure what you mean by clueless but if it’s in relation to the naturist experience, then my above comment rings true. Culture-less away from naturism I would say is a bit harsh. If you’re looking to soak yourself in culture, then GC as an island on the whole can offer plenty. There’s a rich history and some very interesting anecdotes when you touch base with the right people.
PDI with its dated shopping centres has a strong argument to be on the tired and tacky side. And a strong comparison to the Blackpool’s could certainly be evident.
That said, anyone who loves a good party, fun and debauched filth and hedonism with good weather pretty much all year round only have a four hour flight.
My only advice is stay away from Las Americas in Tenerife as well.
Definitely horses for courses and I’m looking forward to my rodeo next week.

Agreed, and for a quiet villa by the beach, Ageate has far nicer available than anything wea saw in Fuerteventura which is beautiful but bland and I don't recall finding much in the way of class or culture especially around Corralejo, just a small version of Maspalomas dunes. |

We have spoken to a venue in PDI for hosting a social night on Friday 29th March starting around 9.30pm giving people the chance to eat first. It’s a social just to get as many people together to meet chat and get to know one another. Free of charge.
Think there’s quite a few people out then and it would be great to meet and chat. Let us know if you are interested in attending, someone did this for us last year and thought it would be nice for us to return the kindness for others. Let us know by DM if you would prefer.
