Planning a trip with my partner to Fuerteventura in April. Is all inclusive worth it? Do they have the 6 drink rule?

I think you'll find that varies, hotel to hotel. When you can buy a litre of vodka for under 5 quid in the shops and some decent quality wines for about 2 pound a bottle, I wouldn't worry about it!

Thanks, I think we won't do all inclusive

All Inclusive at the Hyatt Secrets Bahía Real Resort & Spa in Corralejo are limitless drinks. Though they do have a policy of stopping service if you appear to be d*unk. We have stayed a few times, it's a beautiful resort hotel with amazing facilities and service.

Depending on where you're planning on going on the Island we would advise against AI. So many decent restaurants to try, catering for most tastes too.

Fuerteventura/Gran Canaria

We have lots of great restaurants and bars in the island. Just enjoy them. It's not very smart to visit the island in your holidays and book an all-inclusive resort. Live our way of life.

For many Family Holidays, all-inclusive is by far the best deal.

Also, according to Canarian Weekly . . .

'48% of the tourists who opted for this type of tourist package did so in Fuerteventura'

So for them, it is very much the smart choice.

Thank you, all the advice is welcome, it's our first time to the island and we want to embrace the local culture too

We agree entirely. Hire a car (eg Autoreisen from the airport) and explore the many beaches, varied scenery, small towns...and superb restaurants. We recommend Casa Marcos and El Horno in Villa Verde, Podomorfos in Tindaya, and Azzuro and Olivo Corso in El Cotillo, plus the many restaurants and bars in Corralejo.

Canarian Weekly is not the most trustworthy news outlet on the archipelago and has a very British bias.

You could do worse than booking an apartment through VRBO, and self catering . Atlantic Gardens next to the Campinario centre is somewhere I've hired before and enjoyed .that's Corralejo though. Do you have an area in mind ?

Are there any swinger clubs on the island or is it just relaxed nude beach life?

The data they are reporting is from the Spanish Tourist Board. The figures are tourists from across all European countries that visit the Island.

Valais, Switzerland

Back on the island since Wednesday. Feels good to be back.

Regarding all inclusive vs self catered or half board. It is true that the island has many options and good discoveries to be made, and with a car, sunsets and nice meals are different from all inclusive.

Yet some also do all inclusive and just go out a couple of nights too, so it all depends what you enjoy.

Extensive lists of good restaurants, small local ones too, can be sent, around the north area, and a few central / south too.

Up for a social? Sounds fun.
