There may be no recognised swingers outlets such as clubs or bars in Fuerteventura, but there are certainly Swingers that Holiday and Live in Fuerteventura. Albeit most swinging seems to just happen mainly in a random 'hey who's in the Dunes or Circles' kind of way.

We did have one message below saying a bar owner was considering a 1 night a week stay-back, but that seems to have petered into nothing.

Now you might say go to PDI - well we like Fuerteventura - so that's what we are talking about here in this thread.

Another problem is that people just seem to be posting 'we are there on such a date and hoping for fun'. Then the next post gives a different date and by-and-large says the same thing albeit with a different date.

There has to be a more positive and constructive way of doing this? Doesn't there? Well we would think, but so far . . . nada!

Last time we used 'who's near' they were actually 16 kms away! Now we always have a car, but we wanted to drink too so that was a non-starter.

Now we don't meet and just swing ever - we like to get to know people first over a few drinks and some time together, then perhaps if we click, we rock!

So. Suggestions please. let's see if there is a third way. And one that doesn't involve pineapples lol (we don't even like pineapples hahaha.

Our suggestion is to leave Fuerteventura exactly as it is. We are swingers that live here and we value it's laid back atmosphere, quiet beaches and relaxed people. If we wanted clubs, meeting places, sex on the beach and in your face swinging we would live in PDI or Cap d'Agde. Only yesterday, on Flag beach, we had to rescue a single young woman from an old, overweight predatory male with an erection who clearly didn't understand the difference between naturism and swinging. We can well do without more of that behaviour from tourists looking for a 'bit of action'.

'Who's near' on Fab has served us, and many others, well over the years. That's pretty much all we need.

You said 'we'. We isn't the rest of the world. I don't like smoking but 'we' have to put up with it - if you catch my drift? And I'm not being argumentative here, really I'm not.

Also not suggesting swingers clubs for a moment. And I've already said (more than once) that playing in the dunes really isn't our thing.

A contact point isn't a swingers club nor is it a swingers bar. If there was one we wouldn't play in it - already said too that we would only play in our apartment.

Discreet play changes nothing about the Island.

It's a bit selfish to suggest that swinging only happens the way you want it to. Well life really isn't like that.

I think your last paragraph is exactly the point. Fuerteventura is functioning very well as it is as far as discreet swinging is concerned, but unfortunately not the way you want it to, so you're the one that wants to change it. That seems very selfish.

Probably best if you read what I said properly. And you said it yourself people walking around the dunes behaving badly isn't at all what the island (any island needs, nor imagine wants).

But your discreet play is okay, and mine isn't? Yea okay.

Since writing this quite a few folks have inboxed me and said a meeting point would be a good idea, simply because they hate the dunes way of play.- one said he's love a wank on the beach, guess which one who didn't get an answer?

Anyway. Keep adding ideas folks, here or inbox is good.

Having been stood up countless times by Fab couples arranging a meet in a bar, we now simply give any interested couples our 'what3word' beach location. We're nude, nothing to hide and if no one turns up, we've just spent a lovely day on the beach with friends,as usual.

Home is only 5 minutes away, so all bases are covered should we wish to take things a step further.

It certainly sorts out the dreamers and wannabes from genuine swingers.

It’s a tough one Cat.

But you are right. Swinging is a lifestyle and you should be able to take this lifestyle with you anywhere, regardless of not whether it’s targeted or not.

We love PDI and we love Tenerife and our reasons are that the areas we visit lend to the party lifestyle we crave. Of course we can chill be pool/beach in the day. So totally appreciate and respect your love for Fuerteventura.

Like Lanza, two of the quieter islands, so I see why you’re looking for some kind of channel for swingers.

I’m not sure of the answer myself as I don’t know what type of volume frequent the island to facilitate a supply and demand.

I guess the vanilla bars have to be careful of any connotations to swinging as it could alienate them or cause licensing issues with local councils.

So it kind of leaves it to a bit of pot luck, which is the who’s nearby feature, or a post in fab.

I guess there’s value in what our fellow fabster states as living there would give them a good sense of what sort of scene is there for meeting people and liaising.

To try and add some value to the thread. I think if we ever decide to visit Fuerteventura and wanted to be proactive in swinging. Rather than leave it by chance of a who’s nearby. It would be a two point strategy:

1 - Add a post in the forum ahead of the holiday to see if we get a response, which you’ve kinda mentioned.

2 - Plan a ferry or flight to Gran Canaria/Tenerife for a couple of nights in a swinging environment.

Other than holidaying with likeminded friends, I’m out of suggestions.

There is room for everybody.

Good idea. If you want to visit the meeting point, great. If you prefer to stay away from it, great.

The thing is that there is not enough swingers to run a bar just for us.

The two main turist towns are far appart (Corralejo/Jandia) so you are counting with half The turist to start with.

The bars that have tried to start a business, have failed.

Not enough swingers, nor in Fuerteventura nor in Lanzarote.

If you open one, best wishes. Meanwhile, the who's near option is the best one for me

Surely it's down to commercial viability, rather than 'not on my island'?

Could any of the smaller Islands sustain another PDI swinging scene? Absolutely not but using Mystique(Tenerife) as an example, if there is a demand, then anyone with a business head would say meet that demand.

I think it's more a question of scale, would a small, late night Swinger focused Bar be so offensive to everyone, whichever Island/Town it was located in? Look at Sweet Moments, in La Sandia, or Mach Bar, in Cita, people don't look twice, most wouldn't even know what SMP stood for.

Also, look at all the established PDI venues, most started much smaller than they are today and many new ventures tried but didn't succeed. If there is no demand, any business won't be around for long.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Spice on Lanzarote was successful and it was only when they expanded beyond the demand, that they closed.

PDI is what it is but that shouldn't be used as an objection to any businesses opening on the other Islands.

Personally and with genuinely no offense meant to the many decent single guys out there, I feel it is the Meerkats on the beach and the wanking dead about the Clubs, that offend and give the scene a negative image.

Whilst we have been living on the island two clubs have opened (in Villa Verde and Costa Calma) and rapidly closed because of lack of custom. The one bar that people claimed was "a meeting place for swingers", but actually never was according to the owner (the Hello Bar in Corralejo) has closed and reopened under another name. Since Covid many bars have closed or are struggling. To become known as a swingers bar could easily become the kiss of death financially.

It isn't a question of "not on our island" but a question of residents having a better idea, through years of experience, what is likely to work than a visitor wanting to organize us.

As far as I know, Spice closed for a good reason. The hotel was rented, and never told the Landlord they were opening a Swinger hotel. They did not extend the contract longer.

I remember the bar in Costa Calma. We were the only couple there on a thursday night

No worries, your original response didn't really convey that but now you've clarified and it concurs with my supply and demand comment. Clearly there isn't the demand and people who think 'build it and they will come' are only kidding themselves. Very different pace to life on Fuerteventura

Did they not try and open at another location, Spice2? I think I remember people had booked and paid money, before it was announced it wouldn't be opening. Again, I could be wrong, as it was a number of years ago

Well. It turns out that there already is a network on Fuerteventura. I've had a very sweet message from a bar owner who is happy and has been happy for two years to welcome swingers and network them under these rules:

1. Invitation only.

2. There are no word of mouth invitations.

3. Couples have to prove themselves to be couples.

4. They host 1 night a week rolling.

5. You must always purchase their drinks and food.

6. No open air Play.

7. Decent dress code upon arrival.

8. Have a quiet approach and departure from the premises.

9. No d*unkenness and no drugs. No phones to be switched on. Smoking and Vapes are not allowed indoors.

10. Good behaviour.

11. If you are invited, and you fail to turn up you will not be invited again.

Address will only be given on the evening that a couple is invited.

I asked if I could post this on the forum.

I'm not sure if singles are allowed.

Happy to say that we have been invited and have graciously accepted.

They have read this thread.

Tracy and Dean of Spice Lanzarote were 'shafted' by the property owner. As he realised that he could make a lot more money by dealing with travel companies. So their lease was not renewed.

As far as we are aware all money was refunded to clients of Spice2 Swingers Holidays.

Both Tracy and Dean are lovely people.

Very sad about Spice. From what we heard, it was very successful and they were building on this success with a bigger and better Spice and sadly went into cash flow issues.

A bit off piste to the original thread I know, but what is of the old (and proposed) Spice locations. Are they still operating, granted most likely as vanilla. Or completely no more?

Gutted that we never got the obligatory photograph in the Spice pool.

I feel, as a local, that a place to meet singles and couples swingers could be lovely.

As a single guy we come with a massive label on a back from needy pushy wankers.

So I'd understand we are not welcome, yet feel it's a shame too as it's not by shutting off that we actually create change.

Ideas of a bar where we meet up as friends, at a given date and time, like I do for entrepreneur coffees, or within the healers & therapists community could be a greet idea.

To me swinging is about connection, meeting people, like minded, we know what we enjoy, we are open about it.

even if most of us would not enter their corporate company saying I'm a swinger with my wife, there is a taboo and judgmental that I see the concerns of business owners... It's risky. Let's remember how religion still has a large imprint on Spain and the island with all the virgen celebrations all year round)

even disagreements between posters arose in this post so imagine with people who can't imagine our lifestyle.

So it could be rent a villa one night once in a while, private invite.

It could be bar meet-ups, casual, social setting and see from there.

Could be a list like it's done for the cap d'agde thread and people post their come and goes

What3words is good, registration is required yet it's useful and fun to connect.

We could also have a telegram group option

I feel simplicity and mingling, as human beings, without considering anyone as a penis and vagina is a good start to building a wider network here.

And as I'm nearer gran tarajal, a kind of nomadic option with like maybe 1 place north, 1 central, 1 south could be fun, should some business owners be up for it.
