Are there any fabbers around Los Alcazares? We are heading over on Sunday for a week to look at properties in the area, would be great to meet up with people who have done similar and can offer advice about the area. |

I spent a winter there a few years ago and honestly if it were not for the weather it is as dull a place as could be. The beach is pretty but is on the Mar Menor which has it's own issues. (google it). There are 1000 better places in Spain to invest your hard earned in my opinion. |

We lived there for 12 years. It’s an amazing place to live. It’s got some great bars and restaurants and a really good community. There is an underground swinging scene but fir clubs your better looking in Alicante. There’s a fantastic Facebook group called Lis Alcazarez info For All that’s well worth joint NH as you will find out everything about Los Alcazares on there. If you need more specific info just PM is, and we’ll be happy to tell you more. We still live permanently in Spain but have moved to near Cartagena now which is about 20 mins from Lis Alcazares |

We would agree.
It's not so bad in the summer but the winter is like a wet February Wednesday in Morecambe. OK maybe without the wet and a bit warmer.
A bit further up the coast (15-20 minute drive) is Orihuela Costa which includes Cabo Roig, La Zenia, Playa Flamenca and La Florida among others.
Most bars and restaurants stay open through the winter and there is a thriving international community. There is something going on the whole year.
Also it is closer to Alicante airport which has a much better choice of flights than Murcia.
Murcia airport pretty much goes into hibernation for the winter and even summer flights can be thin on the ground.
We've had a place on Orihuela Costa for 20 years and have looked at most (if not all) of the rest around that part of Spain.
As yet we haven't found anywhere else that we would prefer. |

Should have said that this is to be a holiday home and not a permanant home, possibly be there up to two months at time. We have hired a car and plan to visit other areas, including those mentioned above. Many thanks for your input so far |

I’ve lived on the coast for a lot of years and must say every area has good and bad ! More good I Guardamar fantastic beaches still has a village vibe which will never change great fiestas but quiet during winter months, playa flamenca I’d say busy all year with massive variety of nationalities and los alcázares we’ll totally different people different mentality but still nice and summer is very hectic mostly Spanish if you need any info on more pm me ?? |
