Think if you book one of the better rooms you will be ok. We stayed there location wise it’s great the pool area is clean and bar staff lovely. We had one of the old rooms which wasn’t what we booked but gave up trying to change it. The living room and balcony where big. The bed was like laying on a piece of wood not great at all. Bathroom couldn’t swing a cat. To be fair you don’t use a room much but would at least like comfortable sleep and that we did not have. I would go self catering if you do book x maybe look at don Miguel or somewhere like that x |

Location brilliant for Cita centre and walking through Rui Hotel across the dunes to the beach. Rooms are awful tho, had a superior room and smallest kitchen and hardest bed we have ever had. No kettle, toaster etc also |

We stayed for 19 nights in October/November 2022.
As mentioned, every member of staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. Especially, the lady at the bar in the centre of the pool. She was very attentive and second to none service.
Location is spot on for the majority of swinging bars and clubs. A walk to the beach is about 20 minutes and about 10/15 minutes to the Yumbo.
If you travel from the airport by bud, then €3.50 and you’ll be dropped practically outside the hotel on the corner of the roundabout by El Poncho/Peaches and Cream. The opposite side is your return.
Rooms. If you don’t mind a traditional look, then you’ll get a bargain. For a fraction more, invest in the “standard” rooms. These are the recently refurbed rooms and are modern and slick. If you get room 401 or 501, then you’ll be on the corner of the hotel (next to the R or E of Rey Carlos) and have outstanding views of the beach and dunes. All from the comfort of your toilet. Shame the living and bedroom lacks a window to enjoy this, but stand on the balcony and this is what you’ll get.
The modern rooms are spacious and have a decent sized bedroom, a walk in rain shower and have a lovely kitchen, though sadly lack some expected items like a kettle and toaster (Buenos Aires provides this).
If you have to rely on the Internet for work purposes, then I would swerve this. Fortunately I had a data card, but other hotels such as Don Miguel, B.A, Las Gacelas all have strong, reliable connections in the rooms as well as around the bar.
Would we stay again? Yes but the showstopper would be the internet connection for us. And we’d only stay in a standard room and would insist on room 401, 501, or 402, 502.
Swingers do stay there but if that’s very important for you, then you’re more likely to get more swingers in Gold (not a swinging hotel but adults only). |

Stayed a few times- in our opinion- cheap and cheerful! You get what you pay for.
Price comparisons with other hotels have saved us over £1000 over a two week stay at Rey Carlos!
But - it is only really a place to sleep- pool is ok but bar lacks any quality drinks!

We stayed a few times years ago as we loved the location but it’s very old fashion and the furniture is dark and dismal…..food was terrible and we wouldn’t stay there again
If you want cheap and cheerful there are better places than this |

*Standard Rooms are rather traditional. Superior Rooms are the modern recently renovated rooms.
