Not a chance. As with anything. You have enough money it's possible.

Find a good well paid job or have your own business you're laughing.

I can't see them bending the rules for the UK.

Be careful what you wish for. As second home owners we spend half the year in Fuerteventura as we can post Brexit.

Friends of ours went down the residency route and are now wishing they hadn't. It is fraught with financial danger, particularly if you retain property and assets in the UK.

There won't be any plans to make it easier to move to Fuerteventura unless we rejoin the EU. Even before Brexit you were limited to six months there unless you transferred all your tax liabilities to Spain. So called non lucrative visas are possible (but you can't work). There are also Golden visas (need to buy property of more than 500,000€), or Entrepreneur visas for starting a (high tech) company - bars, restaurants etc don't count. Also buying a house there is a little more difficult for third country residents: You have to get permission from the Spanish MOD!

We got our Residencia through the withdrawal agreement, but only because we went through the process before the Brexit shutters came down.

Britain voted against free movement, so unfortunately we can no longer move freely!
