Arrived yesterday as planned. This is our 12th time staying at Venus, it is the 5th time during March. Our other visits are October and December.
Needless to say we love the place.
However, after paying our bill we were informed they no longer have air con until May always had it before. An absolute joke not to have it when temps are 25 degrees +
You won’t be surprised to hear that the still charge the same price.
We will be booking elsewhere for next March.
Not a happy camper this morning. |

our sentiments exactly, we asked for the air on last night and got told. Have to say we would not have booked had we known! Will be looking elsewhere if this is now the norm!! |

Looking at their side, the price of electric is probably sky high and they're trying to keep the price low and Aircon uses a lot. We wouldn't normally have the Aircon switched on between March and November but I believe the temp is abnormally high at the moment and they should turn it on if requested and in future make it an optional extra charge perhaps so people know in advance ? |

My phone has an infrared blaster on the top of it. I just downloaded a universal remote control app, selected the ac unit model (our room is a Haier HEC) and have been using the air con since we arrived on Thursday |

"Wasn't there a change in the law in Spain last year to restrict use of A/C & Heating?
Same as shops turning lights off overnight etc. Perhaps this is something to do with it?"
So far as we are aware the airon laws only apply to public buildings airports etc and think it just says Airton may only be used above 27°C or so. The shop lighting has not yet been rolled out to the Canaries to our knowledge. We can say from personal experience that electricity prices have risen considerably. |

For those with phones older than iphone12 you can buy an adapter that will plug into your lightning connection online for a few quid. Just search for ir blaster iphone lightning |

Gosh what a load of crap. You willingly go to a country that is hot and then complain that it’s hot FFS! Just leave your curtains shut in the day. The hotel take the sensible measure of removing the remotes and you make your own. I hope they charge you extra and isolate the whole AC circuit at the main board. We need to save our planet NOW for our successors (both human and fauna and flora), people like you confirm we’ve probably lost the battle already. |

"Anyone know if they have irons in the rooms? We'll be there in a couple of weeks.. Mrs E wants to know whether to pack an iron.. If you could see the amount of stuff she's trying to cram into our hold bags you'd understand how important this question is "

"Venus are now giving out air con controls with a 20euro deposit. They’ve obviously had a change of heart. "
Ah we've been hearing about this aircon thing. Are you guys out there now? How are the temperatures looking? |
