Claiming back VAT on the Canary Islands

I have been reading that UK visitors to Gran Canaria will be able to claim back IGIC (Canary Islands VAT) at the airport when they fly home from 23rd Feb.

Does anyone know any more about this?

And it would be interesting if people could please post their experiences of this once the system is in place, and how easy it is to do it.

And you'll have to pay vat in entry to the UK
