Playa del Ingles is the swinging Mecca of the Canary Islands. Personally we aren’t fans of PDI itself as a resort but there are lots of lovely places to base yourself nearby. Most of the clubs/bars are relatively close by and travel ;(taxi, public transport etc) is high quality and relatively cheap. |

Agree with your view of PDI, we’ve found it a bit sleazy. |

We like the Melonares area. A few euro taxi into the clubs etc but far enough away from PDI.
GC mostly is a beautiful island with some great places to explore. Due to its size you can get most places in under a few hours. There’s some fantastic little villages/towns when you go inland which showcase Spain in all its glory… and not a neon light of full English breakfast in sight |

"Stay in the Meloneras/Maspalomas area much better than PDI but the night life is only a short taxi ride away"
Yep, Maspalomas is lovely, great restaurants, as you say only a few €s to the flesh pots |
