We were there in November and love dunes fun so did a bit of research and were cautious.
We only ventured into the dunes after 3pm when we were told it was safer. Never saw any 'ranger' types at all. The route we took was behind the kiosk 6 and straight back into the dunes scrub area. Although late on there were quite a few guys there and we had some fun. Further in near one of the palm trees we found more couples and we were told that this was the 'swinging couples' area although obviously unofficial.
Use your common sense and you'll be fine. We're back there in January.

Good evening my friends
I came to gran Canaria in October and I will leave in may, same as every year.
The rangers are going down in the morning and they leave at 1:30 PM
IM have been down on the sand dunes every day since 9 October and never have a single problem.
Some people write on forum that the rangers can fine.
Bollocks!
There are plenty of people now on the dunes and they are not even bother to talk to people, they just whistle.
Anyway
Just go after 1;30 pm and it will be fine.
Gay area l, down riu hotel on the right about 250 yards in the forest.
Couples area, walk straight behind kiosk 6 then you see a big palm tree (don't stop at palm tree, tourist can see your action from the patio) 50 yards after big palm tree you will see the "pussy hill"

We are off to maspalomas next week for a couple of weeks on sun and sex. Looking forward to the nudist beach and trying the dunes. Also planning to visit venus star and a couple of clubs. Any other recommendations? |

For those thinking of having fun in the dunes at Maspalomas there was an article in the local newspaper yesterday saying how the authorities are going to crack down on people straying from the paths .They are going to increase patrols and use more technology and drones and issue more 150 euro fines . So be vigilant if you are hoping to play |
