Just a few updates on some of the restaurants we ate in last week
Chez Luigi - Sandia
Mrs had the fish skewer which she found to be delicious
I had the pork in breadcrumbs which was tasty and two huge pork chops !!
Overall 8/10
Cost inc 2 beers £25
Toro steakhouse Yumbo
We were hungry and had the early bird special
We both had Brushetta, Sirloin steaks and ice cream.
The Brushetta was just toasted crusty bread with loads of cherry tomatoes but was tasty
The steaks were a little rare in places rather than a nice even medium but tasty
Overall 6/10
Cost inc 2 beers £32
Asia House
On the recommendation of MsEden we went and at first sight it looked like a cafe, bright and little ambience
We ordered miso soup which was very tasty then Sashimi and Sushi which was perfect and delicious
We then ordered Chicken with Walnut and crispy duck which again was delicious
A few more small courses and we were done !!
Overall 8/10
Cost with 2 beers £32
El Poncho
Top class from the moment we walked in the door, service beyond expectations. We booked online which is highly recommended or you won't get a table.
We started with Galician bread which was delicious and then
Mrs had the beef filet medallion and I had the Filet with Fois Gras which were both cooked to perfection and tender beyond belief.
Overall 10/10
Cost with 1 beer and a large water £43 which is amazing value
Carlos V
We had the "Menu"
The goulash soup was very nice, Mrs had fish fillets and I had pork with the hot sauce and ice cream and coffee. All in all a very tasty meal and good value
Overall 8/10
Cost with 2 beers £30
A couple of nights we fried some chicken breasts and had with bread and salad in the apartment as we aren't big eaters and don't eat out every night.
The scores rate to the service, the food quality of what we actually ate and the price and not necessarily a true reflection of the restaurants. For example last time we ate in Chez Luigi we would have given it a 9 and a previous meal of steak on the stone in Toro III would have been 10!
The main thing is we didn't have a bad meal anywhere and we generally don't, in all the years we have been going I sent a steak back once because it was inedible.

We tried to get his attention for ages to get the bill, he had taken a bill and two glasses of honey rum (I think) to a table of Germans and was talking about to them for about 15 minutes.
When he finally brought us the bill and no complimentary drink and he was actually rude. We didn't leave a tip... |

"Fully agree. We had fish and chips there for lunch yesterday, very nice indeed. Lovely people who run it. Note they close at 5:00 PM, so it is lunch, not dinner."
It could be helpful to others maybe you could give some example prices of what you ate ? |
