Just wondering folks if it's worth packing loads of clothes to go to Playa del Ingles for 2 weeks. Would it be too risky not to take clothes, or are the clothes too expensive?
We going in January so not too sure what we need to take.

We would wash t-shirts, shorts and underwear. Usually e.d up wearing the same shorts and t-shirt to the dunes every day and they get taken off whenee arrive. Few different evening outfits and a suitcase full of shoes and sexy outfits lol
Any clothes we looked at are much the same price as at home |

Thank you for your very useful reply. Our problem is that we have not been overseas since before Covid and not bought any new summer wear in that time. And of course our clothes shops are selling winter clothes in the main now.
Fully understand about heels etc, think it's just a case of thinking outside the box for a change.

We didn't wear half the stuff we brought out a few weeks ago. No need for socks and jeans for starters. T-shirts, shorts, underwear and a short sleeved shirt did me. One pair of trainers and sandals and flip flops were sufficient too. Mrs went with shorts and T-shirts during the day and dresses in the evening. |

Have to disagree, the shops in the tourist destinations in GC sell 'summer' clothes, all year round. Winter is their peak season, unlike mainland Spain. |

Tourist centers such as Yumbo set their prices for tourists, some of whom come from places where things are expensive and these tourist prices still seem cheap by comparison. You won't see many locals shopping there.
If you go across the bridge into San Fernando you will find where the locals buy things, including a plethora of Chinese shops who are competitively priced. There's also some really nice eating places there.
You really don't need a huge wardrobe of clothes in GC. Considering the price of baggage these days probably cheaper to buy clothes here than bring them over. |

My suitcase was mislaid en-route one year so I was directed to the El Tablero shopping centre by our hotel where I replenished most of my clothes from Zara for a third of the price of French Zara and half of UK Zara,
Otherwise we take less and less each year, what clothes we travel in are OK for shopping or even going out in the evening but the heaviest items in our suitcases are usually shoes,
For the male, 3/4 tops and,underwear (can wash and dry easily), shorts and a pair of sandals/flip flops. For the female 2/3 heels, enough sexy clothes and make-up plus the odd toy.
A cabin bag each is usually enough for a 2 weeks holiday, Nov to March, this year will be our eighth visit.
Only problem we've had was at Barcelona airport one year where they wanted to confiscate our flogger from our hand luggage, ended up having to pay extra to put the bag in the hold! |

You can find a lot of shops and boutiques in Vecindario, were the local people go shopping. I think you’ll find better prices and most variety, but you need to drive 15 minutes away (more or less) from Pdi.
