Heard there was a bit of a riot at the weekend in this Cita Centre Club,Playa Del Ingles,with police in attendance and a number of injuries reported.

This is actually correct.
One of the reasons we give Secrets a miss.
Every year there is some drama. Can’t be doing with all that. Want to enjoy our night without being concerned with getting tucked up at the bar, having handbags nicked, drinks spiked and hassled by over zealous bouncers.
This is not anecdotal. All can be evidenced. |

Was there a single man in the couples area
Seriously it can and probably does happen in a lot of places, much as staff try to watch everything that's going on its impossible.
We feel reasonably safe in secret ( and every other club and bar) but we never leave drinks unattended and always be aware of our surroundings and use lockers.
We saw a guy using a phone around the place in 2019 and as soon as I reported it the security took him aside and checked all the photos on his phone and his messaging apps. He wasn't doing anything wrong other than using a phone to text when he should have went outside.
The worst episode we witnessed was a domestic between a couple because he wanted to go to a club, she didn't but they went and she got fucked by two guys and he threw a hissy fit. I think the police were called to sort it out. |

We have always found secrets to be the best club in the area. A lot of the other clubs do get envious of secrets and try to steer people away from it. We don’t know anything about any riot so can’t shine light on that, but be careful of fake information put out by other establishments trying to steer customers their way, we experienced this when we first went to Cita and stayed away from there until we looked in the other clubs who were mostly empty and found a line of people to get in secrets, and thought we would give it a go! Secret has been brilliant when whenever we've been there. Issues can occur anywhere - without going into details we witnessed a huge domestic between a couple in the UK which resulted in her ending up walking down a country lane in the pitch dark almost completely naked. Luckily we happened by, not some nutcase, otherwise it could have been very nasty. |

Yes, we heard from someone that was there on Saturday that there was a lot of guys involved in a fight. We went on Tuesday and last night without any issues though.  |

After going to this club many times on all our visits, last night was a of a surprise. First off found the door and bar staff not too friendly. The music was good the place looked good, although the new layout doesn't seem to work very well. In previously years were were constantly over charges on bar tabs, and had to take I it up with the manager. Most, and I do mean most people we talk to have had the same issues. So with that opted to pay as we went. Bottle of beer 5 euro, fine club prices. Then later in evening a bottle of beer and orange with soda water, the lady took the 20 euro not , not saying a word, change came back, six euros. That 9 euros for soda water and orange. Gave up trying to take it up with them.
The club seemed to have different rules for different people, no single men in the couples area, unless of course you knew the guys on the entrance to the area. Same with the mixed area, they told some they had to dress to towels,, some were told no glass or drink in the area, again it only applied to some. It got pretty pushy in that area too. Can see why the fight started last week, and it took a lot of police to sort it. Not the best sort of advert for a night out. Certain ly would like to leave a drink under attended, or clothes by side of a bed.
Needless to say we won't be going back, such a shame as had great times there. |

For what it’s worth, our 2 visits in the last few days were excellent with no such problems.
We also bumped into the lovely guy who was in the middle of the “riot” last Saturday - which was actually a single d*unk Brit guy getting aggressive with his own wife, punching someone else’s wife and then getting a thorough pasting from the lovely guy (who is a Fab member)…… |

Exactly. I've never heard of any fights in ANY clubs or bars until the one off in Secret last week.
Go and make your opinions on places. What works for me may not work for you and vise versa.
As for the drinks situation in any bar or club I wouldn't leave my drink lying around. Unless I can leave it behind the bar or something and this applies to Swingers or nightclub. That's just safety. |

We'll be there next week, probably Secret on Friday and/or Saturday so will be on the watch for problems, although tbf it was very good on the 3/4 times we went in May. |

Not somewhere we would go every night but certainly try to go at least once each holiday. What happened at Secret could have happened anywhere. If the people involved had been at another club it probably would have happened there. It doesn't reflect on Secret as a club at all. It was just their bad luck.
We recommend that newcomers to the island try everywhere and decide for themselves what suits their tastes. The amazing thing about PDI swingers clubs is that they are all different and offer different things.
You really haven't been to PDI unless you've been to Secret.
Everyone has good nights and bad nights. People looking for a club that has good nights every night will be sadly disappointed. We think exploring and discovering what suits your tastes is half the adventure |

We were in Cita a few times last week and visited a number of the club's and bars. We found the door staff here to be a bit short on it. By contrast, they were very friendly everywhere else. A guy in Lux told us later that they have a bit of a reputation for that but are fine once you get to know them. He gave us the impression that they can be like that with tourists.

We visit Secrets every time we go to PDI and have never had a bad experience there yet…as regards to the so-called incident on Saturday we didn’t see much agro but did see someone getting thrown out of the club !!! We went to the club on 8 of our 9 nights there and had a great time and the staff are always nice and friendly towards us
People should just try the club and decide for themselves  |

We choose not to go to Secret anymore but that's just it, it's our choice.
We used to go and had some great night's there but then had a couple of what we viewed as negative experiences and made the choice not to return, for now anyhow.
Everyone views things differently, some will just laugh things off, that to others are a big deal.
No venue is 100% perfect, no matter what some people want you to believe but we should be able to share views/experiences without fear of being rounded on.
Things do happen, people should be made aware of that but it seems more and more that anything negative is immediately rubbished(by people that probably weren't there), or posts deleted. Is that a healthy thing?
We generally now go to places incognito and only post views on a venue when we feel we have to and where possible, take it up with the venue first. |

You should get hubby to walk ahead as if he was a single guy , they can be very rude.. I have had some wild nights in sweet moments where they treat you like a normal customer.. |

It happens....a lot! Negative feedback on the forum is not welcomed by owners, or their public relations teams. There are more venues than ever in PDI and regardless of how many Fabbers are going, overall numbers are still down. On Our last couple of trips to PDI, since Covid, we haven't seen nearly the number of Skandis, Russians and others there. Still a good number of Germans, of course but they have their own Bars etc that they frequent.
Not all the hype and spin is anything like the reality....still a great place to party though. We considered trying elsewhere next year and looking at the cost of flights, we might well be  |

Probably not the club as they do not have a profile on here. More likely customers who have reported the posts. But again a forum is a forum where opinions are allowed to be given, positive and negative. It all depends how it's worded and how Admin see it I guess. But those who haven't been to any club or bar over here, do take in all opinions etc then go and form your own.
One of the good things about this island is that you CAN visit 3 or 4 places in one night where as in the UK it can be a weekend for one place and it might be rubbish |

Not really a laughing matter, the number of single guys heading to PDI has massively increased, so I think it's inevitable that 'incidents' will occur. Clearly some, not all, venues are happy to take the guys money and admit however many turn up.
We met and know some fantastic single guys from out trips to PDI but to be honest, we saw more to put us off on this trip than ever before....such as the guy who turned up at a venue, when he had visibly been sick and stinking of vomit. Thankfully, on that occasion, he was asked to leave.
I remember(as a single guy) Chris, at 2x2, vetting all the single guys outside and limiting the number of them let in, to match the number of couples inside. Many got told simply "you aren't getting in to my Club" though perhaps in not such polite terms.
We have increasingly come to look back at the smaller, more compact, PDI scene of old, as better times |

Well there are some good venues in PDI, but anywhere you get people, hormones, drinks and sun it all adds to the mix. That's life.
It's up to the bars and clubs to be vigilant and sort out any trouble.
Luckily 99.99999999% of people are decent.
And if you don't like somewhere....don't go. |

Very defensive? With close to 40 trips to PDI, our observations are both qualified and valid. We have already said that we choose not to go to Secret but that doesn't exclude us from having an opinion on an increase in incidents of violence and a probable but certainly possible link to the increased number of single guys.
Anything we say is just opinion, unless we simply list a venues name, location and opening times, then it is completely subjective, as is anyone else's opinion.
We have nothing against any single guy, indeed we reached out to one newbie on our last trip and privately offered him support and encouragement, it is the observation of the increase in numbers of single guys that we highlighted, simple as that

We always say one size doesn't fit all so great approach guys. We do the same.
We also find you can have an amazing night, then next one not so good.
We've also found it's not always about the quantity of people, it's about whose there.

"Quite strange , a load of negative posts have been removed, . Seems somehow the club can do this. If you put search secrets there are now no results. This is ment to be an 8nformative forum."
To clarify .A club or poster can't get posts taken off, they are normally removed if they break rules |
