We usually go to Fuerteventura and love it there, but just as a change we are considering Gran Canaria this September. Can anyone offer some first time visitors any tips on where to stay/go etc?
we are looking at maybe hiring somewhere on Airbnb and maybe in maspalomas (is this a good place to stay??) Really a bit clueless with the island so would love any recommendations on best places to stay/visit/eat/drink etc |

Maspalomas is lovely but pretty quiet and a €5-6 taxi each way to the clubs in PDI
There's plenty of good threads here about all the clubs and the dunes if you scroll down a few pages, have a good read then ask specific questions. |

Most clubs are situated in playa del ingles, there's a few meeting bars and a good choice of clubs most free if you are single female or a couple, also sex cinema, plenty of bars to trawl when not swinging, yumbo centre is always entertaining, most people go to maspaloma beach for nude bathing, I would suggest a hotel in playa for convenience plenty to suit most budgets. |

Thanks for all the replies here and in the messages. Really appreciated! To be honest never really done the full on club thing, just nude beaches and outdoor stuff. Intrigued by the clubs but also worried it might be overwhelming there as it sounds like there are so many lol |

"Probably a stupid question but does PDI have beaches too or if we were staying there would we need to travel to maspal for that? "
There's beach the full length from before'PDI'(PDI is actually part of the Maspalomas region, hence the large Maspalomas sign on the strip in PDI) to Maspalomas and beyond to Melonares. It's a popular but quite lengthy walk from the strip in PDI, to the dunes area and what was kiosk 4 and the FKK/nudist areas.
The beach closer to PDI would see more families and isn't classed as FKK/nudist, although you can see people naked pretty much anywhere on the beaches. Hope that helps |

There’s a lot of clubs but I wouldn’t say it’s overwhelming as in too many in an emotional sense.
First and foremost it’s a holiday resort, not a swingers resort in that everywhere you look and go will be pure swing (ooh reminds me of my 90s CD collection).
Heading to the bars/meeting points will not feel that much different to heading to vanilla ones on holiday. Only difference is social networking is a lot easier and you know the people around you have a common interest.
Then the clubs are simply an option to continue your night. You can continue to drink and socialise, dance or take it further.
Once you try, I doubt you’ll look back. |

"We too are absolute newbies to pdi and are off in a couple of days. Some good advice on this thread especially with regards to clubs not something we have ever done either. "
We’re new to PDI and arrive tomorrow. We’ve done one club in the UK, but otherwise fairly new ourselves, so feel free to get in touch if you need some wingpeople |
