PDI clubs and bars… which nights?!
Jump to: Newest in thread
We’re in PDI from 5-12 July, and have read the thread(s) about the various bars and clubs, but we’re still a little stuck and overwhelmed!
We’re experienced and have been on the scene a while, but are fairly picky about who we play with and need there to be an attraction. We’d like to meet people around our age (ideally under 45), and we’re open to all genders and nationalities (although it’d be nice if we could hold a conversation ).
Is the vibe/clientele similar in all the bars and clubs, or are we better off sticking with or avoiding any particular ones? We’d prefer something a little classier rather than seedy, if that makes sense…
Are there any clubs or bars which are better on a particular night of the week? We’re there for one week, so wouldn’t want to miss out by going to the wrong place on the wrong night if we can help it
We know these things tend to vary and it depends on who’s around at the time, but any advice or nudges in the right direction would be hugely appreciated! xx |

I wouldn’t call any of the bars/clubs seedy to be honest. None have ever given us this vibe. In the past 2x2 have had some greedy girls night, where quite a few guys can get indulgent. So maybe that might be as close to seedy you’d find. Though seedy would probably not be the best word.
In terms of heading out in July. You are holidaying typically out of swinging season, for want of a better word. If you have the opportunity to go again, you’d find October, beginning of November a peak time, though these aren’t the only two months.
Your best friend on this holiday is going to be the forums and the “who’s near” feature to give you an idea of who’s around from predominantly the UK and Ireland.
As for clubs, there’s Eden in the Nilo. Couples night on Mondays but also have Gentlemen Nights too, as I note you do look for single guys too.
If you’re out in the Yumbo, then Studio 69 is worth popping in to.
And then if you head to the Cita Center, upstairs is Comeback Bar and Before. Both are very close to each other so wouldn’t be a challenge to go back and forth. Then downstairs in the basement, Secret and Fun4All.
On a Friday and Saturday night, it’s likely that Secret will be one of the busiest clubs, as quite a few locals do head to the club. The age group is varied but would expect quite a few in and around your age.
Sweet Moments, Black Bulldog and Moonlight Dream are all closed during July, so three you can quickly scratch off the list.
Drop us a line if you have any other questions. xx |

"We saw on Secrets website that they have a dress code that includes no shorts for men. Is that still correct? Gonna be flippin’ warm in long trousers "
I've always worn trousers or smart jeans to clubs, wouldn't think of wearing shorts but we have seen a few people wearing them but I don't think we did in secrets |

Me neither, but then I’ve never been to one off the coast of Africa in July |

Same here. Ritchie has never worn shorts in a club in PDI. The majority of guys wear long trousers. However I would say the dress code is more relaxed for what a guy would wear to a club in the Uk |

I've only ever worn shorts to go out in the evenings in PDI. Smart chino type etc, not sports shorts. I don't take long trousers on holiday!! We went to one club, that's no longer open, paid to go in and was then told by the staff that I should be wearing long trousers. There was nothing on their website about dress code etc. I told them that I didn't have any long trousers (not that I was going to go back to the hotel to change anyway!) and what was the point because once I was inside whatever I was wearing would be coming off anyway for dress down!!
I've never had a problem about being in shorts anywhere else in PDI. |

I seldom wear long trousers in clubs in PDI. The last three trips I haven’t taken any at all.
We’ve lost count on how many times we go to Secret, as this is our favourite club, and I’ve always worn shorts here.
When I say shorts though, I don’t mean Bermuda, beach or sports shorts, but jean shorts, or smart-casual shorts.
I’ve also observed a number of gents with similar clothing.
Never been refused entry yet or questioned on attire.

"Thanks all. I don’t own any sports shorts, and would only ever wear smart chino-type ones anyway, and am always in a smart shirt so fingers crossed! "
Very similar to some of the stuff I’ve worn.
Smart being the operative word, so I’m pretty sure you’ll be fine.
Enjoy! |

No there is no dress code for the clubs. Everytime i go i wear shorts, (sure once in half of the men get naked & put ther clothes in ther locker and just run around with a towel wrapped round ther waist). |
