Alicante Airport is in a little one street town called El Altet, which is 20km from Alicante itself, since Benidorm is about 55km from airport you are over 40% of the way there. You will need transport to you get from there to Alicante. You might aswell use that mode to go all the way to Benidorm, the bus is about 20 euro max, direct from Terminal. And a Taxi to Alicante is about 20euro and 70 to Benny, so if more than one person, thats probably the best choice. |

"Yes there is one that runs from Alicante to Denia via Benidorm, it's more like a tram than a train so I don't think you 'inter-rail ticket will be good on it!"
Thanks, great info. The plan is to spend September traveling around France and Spain. We would get the train from Barcelona to Alicante, then tram to Benidorm. Then plan to go further south - Malaga area, returning via Madrid, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Paris. |

Yes Benidorm is around 50kms from the airport. From the airport to Alicante city is closer to 10kms.
However the airport is on the opposite side of the city. So it isn't 40% closer it's more like 20& further away.
If the OP is travelling from the city then the train/tram is an option.
From the airport the bus is much better.
Try Benibus or Beniconnect. |
