Went for a bit of a walk this morning from the Camel Safari to kiosk 8 - the first or last kiosk depending on how you look at it.
Nobody about - it was early and quite cold. The path was well marked with wooden posts on each side, but there were about 5 times as many posts on the right side (towards the lagoon) as on the left. All the signs were on that side of the path as well.
Conclusion? Well it looks like they're much more concerned about the area nearer to the lagoon. Which may explain why some people have been fined, while others have just been warned. |

The lagoon area and the area behind has had posts for as many years as we can remember.
At the weekend there were dozens of meerkats roaming all over |

I agree, i was there at Xmas and walked tha paths behind the dunes most days and only saw the rangers at the lagoon end, i was talking to a local guy who said they rarely go to the RIU hotel part of the dunes. |
