8 ‘til Late - The Cita Challenge

As mentioned in a post where we’re going to do a North route covering Studio 69, Maclennans, Eden and Moonlight Dreams (now it’s open).
As we’re taking friends for their first visit to PDI, I’m also planning another night, so they can get to experience as much of the scene as possible, whilst adding a bit of quirk. Excluding the cinema, I calculate there are 8 bars/clubs currently open in the Cita Centre that lends itself to the scene.
So the 8 ‘til late challenge is to visit all 8 venues in one night, starting at 8 o’clock.
I see the logical route being something like this:
Upstairs (top floor) route:
- Black Bulldog
- Heikes Bar
- Before Swinger Meeting Point
- Comeback Bar
Downstairs (basement) route:
- Klamotte Meeting Point
- Temptation Swingers Club
- Fun4All
- Secret
Then finish at Pepe Chiringos for some scran.
Possibly doing this on the 29th or 30th October. Thought I’d share in case anyone’s around, or looking for an idea during their visit. |

Oh no! Chiringos is the Shirley Kebab House/Faraz of PDI. Hard to comprehend it closing at all let alone before 12.
Fingers crossed it’s back to normal as soon as. It’s going to totally ruin the night otherwise!  |

Sure.
I’m going to put some rough timings together in the next few days, but I think it’ll have to be 30 mins minimum- 45 mins max in each bar to ensure that we complete the Cita challenge and have plenty of time at the club side. |

So we’ll be starting our crawl at The Black Bulldog circa 8pm, then roughly every 45 mins on to the next venue

The Cita Challenge was great fun and a good way to meet up and have chat with likeminded couples. Anyone that plans to do this, then I would recommend not drinking in the day and allowing roughly 45 minutes per venue, though it does go quick, so a couple of places for quick shots would be advisable.
Unfortunately Temptations wasn’t open and hadn’t been all week, so it was 7 venues, four upstairs and three downstairs.
I would recommend going in the following order to make a logical route:
Upstairs (top floor) route:
- Before Swinger Meeting Point
- Comeback Bar
- Black Bulldog
- Heikes Bar
Downstairs (basement) route:
- Klamotte Meeting Point
- Temptation Swingers Club (if it opens again)
- Fun4All
- Secret |

With 12 o’clock closing currently it’s a massive challenge.
However, Tenerife and Gran Canaria are going to be very good over the next 12 weeks, go to bed early, do their homework etcetera and get gold stars turned over.
So it should be at least level two by the time this challenge will happen.
Failing that, we’re going to be proper fooked come 22:15. |

Hi all just wanting some advice on what’s the busiest time of the year to visit PDI for swingers?
We visited end of November last year, had a great time but It did seem very quiet.

With Covid the last 2 years haven't been a true reflection of PDI visitor numbers. Like all resorts lockdowns and testing stopped most of the regulars form travelling.
Now hopefully that is all behind us.
PDI is a winter resort. It's busiest month by far is October, November is also busy. Then December through to March is very popular. Usually after April the swing bars and clubs get quieter (although still couples around).
The summer months generally attract more families than swingers, but if you look hard enough, there are always swingers in PDI. We just love the place! |

No worries. Ask away. First and foremost, GC and PDI in particular is not a swingers resort. It is a holiday resort that is liberal and tolerant, hence many swingers and members of the LGBT+ community frequenting. So you get a mix of bars.
In terms of the Cita, a quick update:
Upstairs:
• Black Bulldog
• Comeback Bar
• Before SMP
I understand Heikes is being run by swingers (Casar and Claudia formally of Casars Kontact Point in Sandia), with a view of turning it into a swingers meeting point. However, I believe it’s vanilla due to being too open and having a good footfall of vanilla.
Basement:
• Lux
• Temptation
• Fun4All
• Secret
Sadly Klamotte isn’t open currently. Not sure if and when it will reopen, but hopefully in time for the winter fun.
In terms of what’s open for swingers. This information is correct at the time of writing (29/04/2022).
Still with seven places to visit, you’ll spoilt for choice. Don’t forget to add other clubs/bars on your list to enjoy them all (Yumbo Center, Nilo and Sandia). |

Is Heikes Bar still open?"
Heikes is open but isn’t really a swinging bar. From what I understand is when C & C moved from Casars in the Sandia, and come to Heikes, their plan was to make it a swinger bar or swinger friendly.
But decided against it. Whether it was because it was too open or the numbers didn’t stack up as there is a good established vanilla footfall, I don’t know.
It’s a BVB bar, so probably get a lot of Dortmund fans.
But don’t worry. There’ll be some more to add to the Cita Challenge soon. |

We’re back in Gran Canaria in October for our third and final visit for 2022 and will be doing the challenge on Friday 28th October (and most likely Friday 4th November).
Upstairs:

• Black Bulldog (Opens 21:00)
Basement:

• Lemur (New for 22)
• Lux

There could also be another venue in the mix come October, but will post an update closer to the time.
Of course anyone can do this challenge anytime, any order, any rules, in a group or solo.
But the aim is to have a drink in every open swinging establishment in order to complete the challenge.
I know there are some melts out there, but lighten up treacle, it’s ultimately a bit of fun whilst you’re out there. And a good way to get a crash course feel of all the venues in the Cita in one night to ascertain which is your favourite to frequent over your holiday. And it’s your contribution to sponsor the venues and give your support. Doing your little bit for the lifestyle.
Don’t forget there’s also great clubs and bars in the Yumbo, Nilo and Sandia.

N&S are sadly (for us) going at the beginning of October so with regret, we wouldn’t be on their proposed night, otherwise, we’d be there in a heartbeat.
We’ll be doing ours on the 28th, so obviously anyone there during this time is more than welcome to join. |

It’s looking very swanky. Should be opening very soon. Based in the Cita basement. Quickest way is down the stairs on Av de Francia (Eiffel Tower. Side) and it’s right in front of you. |
