"We have decided to avoid any potential changes to Spain's red list next Friday by adding 5 days to our holiday.
So we are now flying on Thursday next week
19 days in GC
What red list"
If you look at the official Spanish gov website they publish their rules for entry. Their current rule is for up to 31st December but also refers to a red list for third countries that is updated each week on Friday's
Nothing to worry about as the UK isn't on it at the moment.
BTW the big difference is if a third country is on the red list you need to take a COVID test before flying...
That has implications for people who have recovered from COVID. People can test positive for weeks even though they aren't infectious due to the genetic material still being in their system.
This is why the UK gov say not to do another PCR within 90 days of having COVID.
Unfortunately the Spanish rule also does not recognise doctors fit to fly certificates at the moment (they used to)
Anyway, like I say, at the moment this does NOT affect the UK as we aren't on the list. That 'could' change on Friday... My betting is it won't but we aren't prepared to gamble.
So now you know.
Obviously do your own research (on the official Spanish and UK gov sites).
Each case is different... Eg if you have kids traveling etc (big change there for example)
We are now going to be flying out on the rules as they stand today (and valid up to Friday)
Sorry for the swerve... I'm happy to chat on PM's but the best thing is to visit the official Spanish government site and familiarise yourself with the regulations.
