Jump to: Newest in thread
We are looking from advice from people who have travelled to Gran Canaria recently.
We have noticed that most sites that you need to either have a a negative PCR test or proof of vaccination.
We were under the impression you needed both but keen to know before we fly.
Thanks

"Do we still have to test on the way back?? We're about to book for 10 days from the 18th, both ben double vaccinated."
Yes. As it stands you need a negative test result 2 days before you fly home. The clinics here do them for 20€-30€. Take your passports, get the test, pay, 20-ish minutes later you get the results. Then on day 2 when back home you need another test. |

Yes. You both need to fill in the Spanish Health Form.
You need:
Email address
Phone number
Flight number
Seat number
Full address of the place you are staying while here
Passport number
It's really easy to do and takes 10 minutes. Print out the QR code as well as keep an digital copy on your phone or iPad for ease at the airport. |

Brilliant!! Thank you, you're the font of all knowledge!! We hope we can try Eden when we come out. We tried to find Moonlight Dreams last time we were there but couldn't find it while driving around but realised after that it's in the shopping centre! |

We are right next door to Moonlight Dreams. But I think they are opening again middle/end of September.
If you are driving to the club, best to park near Jardin del Sol and walk over the bridge to us.
There is small parking outside the CC Nilo, 4 spaces, and they are usually free after 8pm |

This is very helpful information thank you. We are there this Sunday and think we have everything we need.
Can anyone recommend a test centre near the Yumbo where we can get the pre flight home test ? |

Just arrived from Manchester airport this morning.
Double jabbed with Spanish PLF and QR code.
No issues, straight forward.
In Manchester airport just asked do you have QR code, at GC airport they actually scan it.
Only problem was a few folks got in a bit of a flap when it took them a minute to get QR up on phone. We printed ours and found the whole process drama free. |

Apologies if this has been covered, but has anyone looked at the list of test providers on the gov website? (Not sure if I’m allowed to share the link on the forum or not but I’m sure a Google search of - find travel test provider service gov uk should return the page?).
I see the range is from £20 right up to a £400 Mayfair special (can only assume it’s a 24k test kit, diamond encrusted).
Haven’t looked for a while but from what I can see, it’s currently safe to say at this present time, double vaccinated people can enter GC with the filled out form, visual and temp check.
Then prior to leaving is when a negative approved test is required and then on day 2 of your return.
So from a cost perspective, budgeting is going to be £40-£70 per person in relation to testing. |

Not sure if this is relevant but I read that a new certificate for those who are double jabbed comes into force from today. It has 2 bar codes on it. The original doesn’t have any bar codes
Hopefully the original one is still valid and isn’t to be superseded?

If you download to PDF from the NHS app it has 2 bar codes (one for each jab) you can then print out if you wish, bear in mind they are only valid for 1 month, it refreshes every time you log on. |

We have found one of the .gov testing companies are doing 20 pound postal tests. We are going on the 28th September so will order a couple in a week or 2 so they will be here for when we return and will have the ref number on them for the PLF forms. |

The cheap ones seem to only cater for very specific categories.
We found one company advertising tests for about £45.
At the checkout, you found it didn’t include postage or vat so total price went up to about £70.
Didn’t use them on principal.

Chronomics through tui is £30 for 2 fit to fly tests and a day 2 test but only through tui if your not flying through tui its £98 for a fit to fly test and a day 2 test total rip off anyone know a cheaper option as GC you only need a fit to fly test back home and a day 2 pcr test when your back. |

Some tests are supervised via video call, others are unsupervised, you just send a photo of the test strip next to your passport.
I have booked an unsupervised one, it was £23 Inc Post and delivery etc. |

I had no choice. Because I land back in Bristol but then travel onwards to Cardiff I had to use the Welsh government nominated tester at a cost of £68. Rip off but at least its another thing out of the way. |

So the comment we put on yesterday about 20 pound ones we found on the .GOV website turned out to be a scam company!! Ffs. Just paid for the Randox home delivery ones as we arrive at silly o'clock in the morning, and the airport test facility is closed. Used the code TEST21 as the discount code on the website which works out 43 pounds per test. It comes with the reference number which you put on the return PLF Forms. |

Just going through the booking process for Suitehotel and in the hotel information it says that guests must present a certificate to show that you have been tested negative within 72 hours of arrival. This is compulsory for anybody who wishes to stay in any hotel in the Canary Islands!! We were under the impression that proof of double vaccination was sufficient?? |

Checked a few through the filter thing. Then done a search on trust pilot and the reviews were all saying scam. The Randox one is available at most airports I think as a drive through or a home delivery.
We just bought ours for home delivery as we go on the 28th so it's got time to be delivered and is ready for when we get home to take. |

Very easy to get to. We’ve already got our “north route crawl” mapped out.
Studio69 at the yumbo for a rum, gin and Tonny burger to line the stomach. Then left out the main yumbo entrance towards the Cadillac on the side of the casino/buenos aires and head straight up Avenida de España between fusion/las gacelas (LGBT coloured hotel) and red cow and walk for 10 mins until you get to the end and turn right towards the supermarket.
Go through the alleyway past the Galway Girl and before the walkover bridge, stop at Maclennans for a mojito/daiquiri, game of pool/darts.
Finally, over the bridge into the Nilo Center with Eden on the right.
Happy days! |

Yes that’s what we were told, we only need the Green package. for the test you do in Spain, you just have to do it yourself and upload the result and coders. Then the one we do when back in England, again you just do it and can just post back.
Got the NHS app sorted, just need to do the Spanish health form to go and the English one to return, you get a code for both. |

Ryanair.
Not too sure what you mean as Covid test for hotel.
We will have to book a test within a 72 hour window before our return home flight best to book that soon as arriving, loads of places do it.
Staying in apartment.
Not needed any form of certificate since arriving in Gran Canaria airport.
Have been politely to put on my mask when going to loo in restaurants and bars, quite strict but all fine. |

Hopefully the times will extend as season goes on.
It's been a bit grim here as no kiosk 4/6 or sun loungers and umbrellas on beach.
The usual bar to club not happening due to early closing.
Having an ok time but not the real GC experience.
My heart goes out to the hardworking bar / club owners. Must be a nightmare for them, hope it gets better as the season cracks on. |

Yes, I did that last month
Your lfts arrive before you leave, pack them into your hold luggage and do it in your hotel room. Upload pic of test to chronomics and enter your passport number. Certificates emailed within minutes.
PCR tests arrived hours after we got home with DPD so we did them and dropped them into local post box
£20 pp |

Before you fly back, within 48 hrs of returning. You can start the form now but it won't let you continue until your with the 48 hrs, so you need to save and resume at a later date which will be within 48 hrs if returning. As it's a government website it will probably be linked to your passport number so no need to print it off, unless it says so at the end of the form. |

When you fill your return to England form in online it will ask you questions about your day 2 pcr test that you should have booked, it won't let you fill the form in without the info. |

Hi everyone.
We just returned from PDI yesterday and have to say it was getting better by the day. We where there for 7 nights ,,, 1st night the bars / clubs closed at 12 ,,, by the last night it was 2am.
The COVID test before you return home was booked by the hotel for us. 35 euro each,,, we booked at appointment but you can just turn up and you get your result in about 15 mins. We did not get a email with a bar code just a sheet of paper with results etc.
The return to UK form on line on the Gov website was easy and no need to print it off as you have the info on your phone. We arrived into newcastle and didn’t have to show anything at border control as it’s all on the system they have so no need to mess about with print outs etc.
As for the bars / clubs ,,, secrets was packed on the 2 nights we attended ( great fun was had).
Don’t forget your passport for the COVID test out there ,,, that’s all you need and the clinic we went to only excepted cash ??
There is still lots of fun to be had in the dunes but not half as busy as we have seen pre COVID ,,, but that’s to be expected.
The new bars / clubs in the Cita are well well worth a visit.
Hope this helps anyone that’s going soon ( lucky you ). ??

Are the sex clubs open in the Yumbo centre does anyone know. Can you move around the bars/clubs or do you have to sit at tables?
What’s it like at the hotel? Still socially distancing or more relaxed now? |
