Gran Canaria - Level 4 Dilemma

Somewhere in the South West

Totally unsure what to do now with regards to the level 4 thing in Gran Canaria.

We were so looking forward to going on the 18th Sept.....but as a result of the level 4 announcement is it time to quickly amend to a different destination.

Frustrated is an understatement to say the least.

Zurich. NOT London.

That's six weeks away, the numbers have already levelled off. It will probably be back down again by then. We fly on September 4th and have every intention of going.

Level 4 makes very little difference to level 3, so places close at midnight, they do that in level 3 as well, it just means you go out earlier.

Good point,

Just a bit concerned that our illustrious Government flick it to a Red destination on the back of level 4.

Also what's the score with the wearing of mask's etc?

Is everyone of the same opinion in that their going to stay with their current bookings etc.....

I'm here now in PDI.

Masks must be worn everywhere when you are out except when sitting to eat. However, I've noticed lots of people are only wearing them when they go into shops.

I'm coming out again in October with Mr A and places closing at midnight doesn't put us off. It is a bit early but we will just start our night earlier.

I thought I read masks must be worn outdoors if you can't maintain distance of 1.5m eg bus queues etc but not walking in the street or beach maybe someone can clarify ?

That's probably correct, but it is only loosely being adhered to by some people.

I was really surprised last night when we were in the Jumbo no social distancing and no masks by at least 50% of people.

Guess they are fed up with it.

As far as I am aware (and we live out here) masks must be worn inside, except when eating and drinking.

Walking outside masks do not need to be worn, unless social distancing cannot be maintianed.

But seeing as there are more people here, I find myself putting my mask on when I am outside more and more when I pass by someone.

The Yumbo is an odd one because it's outside but isn't at the same time. Depending on how one feels about wearing a mask I guess.

We are arriving 2nd September. Unless the plane doesn't fly we will be there and make the most out of sun, sea, bars and clubs but will probably early starts if closing at 12.

Just going for it, can't really see this level 4 will impact us too much.

There are walk ways around the dunes. You cannot go into the dunes anymore.

We purposely delayed our trip until last week Oct/first week Nov as there was always a chance of something like this happening after the initial relaxing of rules. Hopefully we made right decision.

Time will tell.

Quick question please!

Can the locator form be completed at anytime or is it as close to departure as possible?

I’ve seen contradicting stories!

Thanks

No more than 48 hours before you fly. It won't let you fill a certain part in before 48 hours but will give the option to save what you have filled out so you can go back to it

I’m in Gran C at the moment & very safe. The airport is easy to do, airline will check you’ve the cert for travel & upon arrival you’ll be asked for your QR code from filling in the Spanish health form. I was expecting more to be honest….

To be fair, I have recently returned from GC. People don't seem to go out earlier

I was in secrets and a few other places and it didn't start to fill up until 10 or after then the lights come on at 12

Not much time for playing

Unfortunately everywhere closes at midnight under current restrictions.

Lots of beach parties and people drinking on the grass in the middle of Yumbo after midnight with plastic glasses and drinks bought before midnight.

Don't forget, they can lock the Cita too lol
