Hiya,
Just wondered what Gran Canaria is like the week or two after Christmas- in terms of weather/ how busy it is/wheer to stay etc for a single, straight male. Have only been to Maspalomas once, years ago and that was in the summer. Thinking of heading out just after Christmas for a (hopefully) a bit of sun and relaxation.
Thanks for any information or tips. |

Zurich. NOT London. |
We are out there most years, usually flying on the 26/27th December. Weather is great, but you need a light jacket in the evenings.
GC is a year round resort and Xmas can be quite busy, we usually book from one year to the next to get the accommodation we want.
Sunshine at Xmas and New year, what's not to love? |

This is so true. If there is anything we really like to do here it's party. We have "Carnival" which an event attended with much gusto, Pride, which is fun for everyone, Freedom Week, which in all fairness is a busy month, followed by Winter Pride, then it's Christmas and New Year.
In winter when the temperature plumets as low as 18 degrees the locals can be seen at the home stores in their heavy jackets buying heaters, but you can still get decent sunburn on the beach and burn your feet on the sand. |
