Please can someone advise if we need to have pcr test before we fly to Gran Canaria. we spoke to Ryan Air and they said we should check govt website. But still not sure. We spoke to our hotel and they said our vaccination certificate would be sufficient.

From GOV.UK email updates I receive.....

Entry to Spain

From 24 May, entry restrictions and testing requirements for arrivals from the UK to Spain no longer apply. However, requirements may still apply if:

You have travelled to a ‘risk country’ within 14 days prior to arrival in Spain. See Testing requirements if travelling from a ‘risk country’

You are travelling from mainland Spain to the Balearic or Canary Islands. See Testing requirements for arrivals from mainland Spain

You are staying in tourist accommodation in the Canary Islands. See Testing requirements for arrivals from the UK

You are travelling overland (by road or rail) from France. See Testing requirements for overland travellers

All passengers entering Spain are still required to complete a pre-travel declaration form. See Mandatory pre-travel declaration form for all passengers.

Your passport may be stamped on entry and exit unless you can demonstrate that you are resident of Spain and are returning to your place of residence. See Requirements for UK nationals resident in Spain for further details.

Some travel restrictions and testing requirements are in place for international transit through Spanish airports by passengers on flights departing from the UK. See Transiting Spain.

Travellers should follow the advice of the local authorities on how best to protect themselves and others, including any measures that they bring in to control the virus. See the Coronavirus section for further information.

Quarantine and testing on return to the UK continues to apply.

Thanks for the info, it appears that you dont need to get tested before you go if you have been fully vaccinated.

Once it goes on the green list you don't need one to fly there. You will need the evidence of both jabs on the NHS app and also a passenger locator form so they can do a track and trace from where you have been staying. On return you will need to do a antigen test (lateral flow) a day before the flight and get it stamped by the clinic or pharmacy. Another passenger locator form, And also after 2nd day you need to do a lateral flow again and record it.

Zurich. NOT London.

Currently you do not need to test to enter Spain providing you have not been in an at risk country in the previous 14 days, the UK is currently not considered at risk, but this can change. You also need to complete the Spanish locator form, this can be done online no more than 48 hpurs before departure. As the Canaries are still Amber, you need to book and pay for day 2 and day 8 tests for your return to the UK and quarantine for 10 days unless you access the test to release programme by doing an extra test on day 5 after your return. This also needs to be booked through a recommended provider, your chosen airline may have deals available. You also need a negative test and locator form to return to the UK, again, complete online no more than 48 hours before your return. The test to return to the UK has to meet certain standards which can be found on the UK government website, I'm sure people in resort or at your accommodation will be able to advise the best place to get this done.
