"just have a extra stop in Portugal problem solved "
Good try but your passport would give you away and I wouldn't like to be the first to get caught making a false travel declaration.....I reckon they'd make an example of you, to put others off the idea.
I get a sense that concern over the Indian variant is growing and now the Government has now stated outright, that it's infection and vaccination rates combined, that will sway any decision.....so a lot of countries have a long way to go yet, especially as 'the science' is always running a few weeks behind the real time rates. Not a great day for news ![](/icons/s/sad.gif) |

FCO have now also updated their site to provide info on state of alarm changes. The summary section states:
"The FCDO advises against all but essential travel to Spain, including the Balearic Islands but excluding the Canary Islands, based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks." |

When will Ireland announce their travel updates?"
The Republic of Ireland is in discussions, as part of the overall EU grouping....as we live in the UK, Northern Ireland will, no doubt, take it's lead from England. |

"So you fly into Gibraltar and walk over to Spain you couldn't make it up"
Do they check passports when crossing between the Countries? I believe they do, so that probably puts paid to that...anyone know for definite? I expect when/if they scan your passport, UK Borders get a hit against it. |

Chris 'Grim Reaper' twitty must be ecstatic. These so called scientists have never had so much control over a nation. Who needs the communist party when this mob are making sure they have control over us all until the very last.
Idiots |

In all fairness no one really believed we would be on the green list in May, hopeful but not to be. By the end of this month the plan is to have 1,000,000 vaccines done. We are at 700,000 just now. Infections are falling fast. Just over 2 weeks ago we had 4500 live infections. That number has dropped to just under 3000. (It will go back over 3000 this weekend, because we don’t really have many hospital discharges till Monday)
Also don’t forget, Spain has banned the Uk from coming till the end of this month. So let’s see what the next few weeks brings us |

Absolutely this With restrictions still in full force despite the end of State of Alert, we can expect this data to continue improve and all that needs to happen now is have the Canaries and Balearics evaluated independently of mainland Spain. Hopefully sanity prevails and this happens in 3 weeks time when the lists are re-evaluated. |
