To be fair I think the UK and Spain are roughly in the same position (as regards current infection rates/deaths with both going down though the rate is slowing) but the UK has an awful lot more vaccinated than anywhere in Europe including Spain 7.6% of the population compared to 34% in the UK.
God knows where France is on vaccinations! As it borders so many countries including Spain it could become a new epicentre if they aren't careful!
Italy is going into a new lockdown this weekend with 25,000 cases a day and French numbers are around 25,000 a day though slowly creeping up.
I hate to say it but there is a good chance this could be another washout year even in Spain.
All depends on how good people are obeying social distancing, what effects opening up society has and what effect, if any, the vaccine has on transmission, hospital cases and deaths. It's gonna be a close call.
So there is hope but I would say it's 50/50 at the moment. We will know far better by May! |

I was in Folkestone last week and to be honest I believe that their handle on what's happening is absolutely disgraceful. Ppl walking around with no masks, ppl going into tesco with no masks. You do not dare walk out in Spain without a mask with fear of the GC or Nacional handing you a fine. There was no fear of that in the UK. Be good to see all of you in 21, but if not all I can say from both of us is stay safe |
