We love Spain and we are thinking of buying a holiday home. Ideally in an area where the swinging scene is good.
We would love advice on this please. |

Great idea, but when buying a property remember to add approx 10% to the purchase price for taxes, lawyers expenses, etc. Also ensure you draw up a Spanish will. Since Brexit, there is also a limit on how long you can stay, which is a maximum of 90 days within a 180 day period. That applies not only to Spain, but 90 days total in the whole Shengen area. Should you wish to rent the property out, the tax you have to pay now has risen to 24% and you are no longer able to offset expenses. This tax has to be paid quarterly. Even if you don’t rent it out, you still have to pay a non residents tax in addition to the property expenses such as rates, water, electricity, community charge, etc
Hope that is helpful information.
Kind regards |

Rent first and get an understanding of the area and treat a purchase as something you will own 7 years minimum. In many areas it is cheaper to rent yearly than ever buying a home even if you leave it empty half the year. |

we live in Los Boliches near Fuengirola and there`s quite a number of clubs near if that`s your thing and before COVID the swinging/swapping scene was as good as anywhere especially in the summer when people come away to play. |

Don't buy anything in Spain. Rent. You'll be able to walk away and move to another rental with ease.
Brexit has made it untenable to consider anything other than renting - which represent great value given the 90 day rule. |
