At this point of time, we are still planning on coming to Maspalomas/PDI on Boxing day and wanted to know from people already there if there is enough happening to make it worth while... Please only people there now or who 'definitely' going over the holiday are asked to post on this thread.... |

But just read only spanish nationals and residents and those who s residency is in progress are not permitted entry to spain the balearics or the canarys. Hope this is only a short term thing as we have already booked to visit |

We arrived Saturday and although very quiet all the usual haunts are open
Obviously there are not many people about and depending on how long the travel ban is on the numbers will probably start reducing even more
Really gutted for all the businesses that are abiding to all the rules , we feel much safer here than back home
The owners though are all still as welcoming as ever and the sun is shining and the beer flowing

Sorry they are right.
It's on UK government web site and copied below.
Spain have announced they will be restricting passenger travel from the UK (by air and sea) from 6pm on 22 December until 6pm on 5 January, with the exception of Spanish nationals and those legally resident in Spain. This includes flights from the UK to the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands. If you were due to travel to Spain please contact your travel operator before departure.
Sorry, we also had 2 cancelled this year.
It's not good news.

I'm in the departure lounge now waiting to go home. It was quite but there was places open and fun to be had. I've had a wonderful time.
It did seem to be quite a less busier over the last couple of days. One lady I spoke to said there was only 40 on the plane late last week. When I went on the 12th there was over 100.
I suspected the quarantine is having an affect. |

Do you have a British passport though ? I would check before flying as the messages aren’t overly clear. It says on one site British passport holders will be prevented from entering even if they manage to get on a plane. |

We love Lola !! Can we recommend another similar restaurant to you we discovered in October ? It’s called Calma Chica it’s just down from the cita centre roundabout just up from the Riu Palace opposite the Abora Caterina . X |

I am here now, yes it is quiet but enough bars and restaurants open to make it enjoyable. Will probably get quieter as people go home and nobody new arrives. |
