Playa Flamenca wins 3 out of the 4 categories and probably gets a draw in the other.
1. House prices is where I would give it a draw although I'm not that well up on the prices at Vera. However at PF property is still very good value and the are some good bargains to be had. I very much doubt that Vera would be cheaper so PF could even win that one as well.
2. Convenience. No contest if you mean accessibility to airports and general infrastructure. PF wins hands down. Alicante airport has flights all year and is 40 minutes from PF. Winter flights into Murcia and Almeria are almost non existent, even before Covid, and Murcia is a good hour and a half drive. Also the Zenia Boulevard centre is within walking distance.
3. Beaches and bars. While Vera has a very nice naturist beach that is about the only thing you could say is better than PF. Playa Flamenca itself has 2 textile beaches plus La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Campoamor are close by. Add the small naturist beach at Cala Mosca is a short walk and the long dunes backed beach at La Marina is only 20 minutes drive. The small commercial centre opposite our house has more bars and restaurants than the whole of Playa Vera. Add to that the Flamenca Beach centre, La Florida (including the Abbey tavern) Zenia Boulevard for restaurants, and various other commercial centres. Also the strip at Cabo Roig is just down the road.
4. Opportunity for sexy fun. In the summer months Vera does attract a lot of naturists and a fair number of swingers. There is one swinger club that opens at weekends but I hear it is now for sale. Forget sexy fun on the beach. Vera is popular with Spanish naturists and many take their family's. Swinger fun there is discreet, low key, and behind closed doors. Also in winter the place really is a ghost town.
There is nothing specifically for swingers in PF itself, However Besos club at Guardamar is only a 20 minute drive, and 45 minutes to an hour away are the clubs in Alicante (there were 5 before Covid) There is also some fun to be had in the dunes/woods behind the nudist beach at La Marina, although it can be hit and miss.
Most importantly (and not just for "sexy" fun) there are people there all year round so the opportunities for private meets are much greater.
Vera is a great place for a few days naturism in the summer months with maybe a bit of swinger fun if you are lucky. Other that that it doesn't even come close to Playa Flamenca.

That isn't quite true M.
Yes there are lots of British and Irish but I think the biggest single group are the Scandinavians. Certainly around us anyway.
To be fair it's what keeps the place going in the winter. Areas that are predominantly Spanish holiday homes tend to be mental for 2 months in the summer and ghost town for the rest of the year. South Torrevieja being a prime example. |

You are quite possibly correct G ( you usually are lol). It’s just an observation & feeling when we lived in Torrevieja, and now La Marina, that on all our visits to Zenia Boulevard it felt overwhelmingly UK. Guess it can be misleading, or at least variable depending on time of year. |
