Sheffield

Just seen this ourselves...

Been in GC for almost 6 weeks and because of flight cancellations only flying back this Saturday...

Not too bothered about that - but to suddenly change the status re isolation on return...

Means we should self isolate until..... Boxing Day lol... gets us out of the whole who we can or can’t see at Xmas though...

Ridiculous considering the few cases on the islands... all political... probably due to Gran Canaria accepting the antigen test rather than the pcr test as acceptable from today...

Ho hum......

Zurich. NOT London.

The news are saying it's mainly down to the increase in numbers in Tenerife.

Mr Shapps said their removal was due to a rise in weekly cases and positive tests of the virus, especially in Tenerife.

This is such devasting news for the Tourist industry and of course ourselves. Just hope they don't start cancelling flights again.

If they do I think we will probably wait till late 2021. As this will be our 4th cancellation

This is exactly why we cancelled our 6 week holiday, too many hoops to jump through and someone's gonna fuck up somewhere.

I'm already looking at alternatives! Maybe a day either side, but I will have my holiday!

It depends who you've booked with, Tui and others have said they won't fly people to destinations with quarantine requirements so they'll be cancelling holidays now

Maybe with the testing on return coming in next week, that may change. We just have to wait and see. And keep our fingers crossed!

If you do fly you also need to check your holiday insurance - depending on the policy you may find you aren’t insured now .

Not looking good. If Govt advises against travel it will invalidate most insurances. TUI have already said they will cancel all flights if this is the case. Decision is expected on Friday morning

A bit ridiculous this is. Much less likely to catch COVID in Tenerife right now then in UK. Case numbers per 100000 are much lower still. They dont know what they are doing.

If like me you are waiting for your flights to be cancelled don’t count on it, yes the canaries have been put back on the quarantine list but the FCO are still NOT advising against travelling to the islands. So your flights may still go ahead.

Counting on flights Not getting cancelled, PCR tests booked, quarantine shopping booked for return and Covid travel insurance sorted with battleface, all small hurdles to get over but worth it for safe and fun festive break in the sun with awesome friends.

It can be done

Same here. Just waiting on the government website to show test centres to book my 5 day return test, so quarantine is shortened. Hotel with PCR test booked, the night before we fly, flights still showing. 2 weeks today, not going to jinx it by packing yet though...

I may just have to make a list!

I have other flights ready to book in case easyJet let me down, my lingerie packing list is growing by the day, and the shoe pile is getting bigger. We booked our fave room at Venus for NY a year ago. Bojo is not allowed to bugger this up.
